Kids want clan war, what do I say?
We have some young players in our clan. They often went to clan wars and lost. I tell them to practice in pub games more before facing the good players (sometimes cheaters). But they still want to fight clan war, because it is more exciting.
Should I let them? I want to improve our clan standing to attract skilled players, having a bad clan war record is a minus.

That's a good question. If it's a problem, maybe they should find a different clan? But if they are valuable players you probably don't want that. -
That's why ya got LT's to help em clutch!
Or use veteran players to mop up when they make a mess of things.
Depends on how serious the clan is on clan warring. Sometimes clans only want a special format/process done for clan wars.
Some are more laid back and don't care if they lose too badly. -
I love them kids

They are good kids, adorable.
Most of them were the ones that joined the clan when the clan was born. Back then it was all about playing for fun.
Now some of us got better at it, and want to play with skilled players to win clan wars.
I can handle most legit skilled players, now I am looking for skilled players to help out the kids. I have a few better players but they still need to improve, as I do too.
Sometimes I finally recruited a skilled clan war quality player but couldn't retain him because there is not enough skilled players for him to play with. -

Yes, very true.
I love them though. They are very loyal, very nice and polite, sometimes funny.
They are still relatively new to the game. Their hand-eye coordination isn't fully developed like a 20 some yr old.
Sometimes they ask me to play HM with them, sometimes they join the opposite team in a pub to try to beat me lol
I am thinking of creating two groups in the clan. 1 for clan war, another for fun.
I try to explain our situation when I recruit. -

1 higher rank isn't usually enough tho, I say at 1 to 1 ratio or higher. 1 skilled with 1 unskilled.
The opposite team is usually 2 out 3 that are skilled. -

And you Tecumtha , i see you are 1 nice and Loyal friend good luck with your clan
Thank you mate!We have that problem to. When myself and another LT/leader play our win % is about 80%. However, do to others constantly CW'ing our win % is 58%. We're trying to crack down on this, but we still want the other members to have fun.
You guys are good. -
I don't really understand how can you allow this...
I mean okay, they don't have to be good players, but a clanwar should be a serious thing. They can play with each other in pubs too. Though it isn't a problem if you don't care about your clan's stats. But don't hope for good players expect if they are your friends. -

True enough.
I make friends during pub games.
When I first started CF, joined a clan but they wouldn't go to clan wars without their leader or Lts who weren't always ready. So I left. Now I don't blame them, but I would not forbid our clanmates to go if they want to try a few times. I try to give them warnings, tell them they might lose, and to think about our clan war records, etc.
But in time, my hope is we will do better and improve the record. -

Everyone laughs at me when I go 2-11 in S&D games...which always happens. xdxd -

If you find rank important.
Really simple, make rules that in every CW at least 1 LT should be playing or give permission.
If the are not following the rule just kick.
Rules are rules so the have to deal with it. -
If you want them to get better, make private pub rooms and have the clan members face each other. Assuming they have basic problem solving skills, they should start noticing patterns in their clan mates play styles and start planing around them. Do this long enough and it becomes a lensmans-arms race of tactics, counter-tactics, counter-counter-tactics, and etc...
This allows the clan to find out what each member is good and bad at, how to work as a team, help them improve their skills in the game, and come up with many tactics and strats for CWs. -

I myself don't find rank important per se.
I want to have good players in the clan to play together either in pubs or clan wars,
and they would ask about rank, how many good players, etc.
So the normal recruiting way doesn't work for us.
