My PC has 1GB ram and 124MB intergrated Graphics Card. Pentium 4 3.00GHZ.
^ My working station. Trying running photoshop on this.

I can load PS in I think less the 5 seconds fully loaded. -

I'd be happy knowing my photoshop wouldn't crash when I edit any .PSD that's more than 5MB.

You can get REAL decent Computer for cheap these days. Ya you may not be running everything out there on MAX. But run most of it with little to no problems.I'd be happy knowing my photoshop wouldn't crash when I edit any .PSD that's more than 5MB.
Low Ram memory ftl. I should probably upgrade sometime this year. -

I used to have the same specs, i'd run photoshop and dreamweaver, i made a 30 dollar investment and bought a 5450 and 2 gbs of ram, what an improvement it was. -

Intel chips shouldn't need to go anywhere near that high for better performance
I suppose if someone could get a 2700k unlocked from 5.0GHz they could give it a shot, especially since Intel can traditionally take on heat better than AMD.
The only problem with the 1155 is that it has a relatively locked base frequency, as in everything's coupled within that frequency, so theoretically you could get it up to say 160MHz base clock, but you'd screw up everything else in the system.
Socket 2011 however aren't taking that route, so who knows.
But even so, nobody really needs to go past 4.6GHz
