Gm recently....
I hate Daily Mission. There, I said it. All it does is give noobs Katanas (and other high-level ZP items that they shouldn't have...) They then bring these into a GM (or any match, but GM is the main focus here) and kill you. Ok, fine.
Then the gloating starts. "Oh look! I killed a lt! I'm SOOOO Pro!" Bullsh*t. I'm a Lt. Not a fabulous ghost mode'r, but I hold my own. No, the true pros of GM (Which I've had the privilege of being in clans with) are the people who can b-hop across the map, leaving their breath behind them, and still take out the 6 defusing GRs.... with a Knife.
There's a reason new accounts only get a knife. Until you master the knife, there's no way you should be touching the big, scary weapons. I mean, do babies run before they crawl?
Was bored so made this as well:

But the other problem with these overconfident, overpowered noobs is when they get the veterans ****ed off. When we go into our hardcore mode and suddenly, they're dying in droves, do they think to themselves "Oh, I failed that hop." or "He has good headphones" or "Yeah, I shouldn't have sat there while he shot in my direction..."
Nope, suddenly the chat is filled with "HAK! HAK! KICK HAK! F11!" which is nothing new. However, when 4 or 5 noobs on the team start saying it, your teammates might think they're telling the truth, and bam, you're out of the match. And do y'a know what? Other veterans (Usually master sarg or higher) do NOT spam "HAK" when you kill them. They get the fact that they made a slip up, and you made them pay.... with their life.
I have news for you noobs out there. Do not trifle with the experienced, and if you do, do NOT call hack on us.
These are not unusual GM scores:

I wholeheartedly agree to this. A lot of people I know have gotten annoyed at the amount of people that got Katanas for doing missions. It's fine if there are 2 or 3 people with katanas, but when the whole BL team has longass hit range, it's pretty annoying.
And overall I don't like the number of noobs that have been drowning the GM rooms. Sure the whole GM business is for a revival of GM, but none of the players that flooded the rooms just recently have any idea how to play GM, and more QQing's been going on this past month. While I don't get kicked very often, I'm sure a lot of people have been kicked a lot more than usual be having eyes and ears. -
Im just happy after the event (Silent Solider Ribbon Event) is over, there will be less newbies playing GM, crying about people killing them after they rushed us w/o bhoping lol
I just think the quality of GM matchs will go up after this whole thing is over. -

yea, watching nubs play with Katanas running around and GR people spray with AK's and MG's is funny and dissapointing at the same time. I just camp on the patio above and waste time for easier GM hours rofl. -

Nah I was figuring out how to do a 360 hop during that time xD -
Somehow, I am somewhat okay with it, but not too much. I think the improvement shall be slow. Giving rookies a katana right away isn't the way, but having a permanent AXE can allow a rookie to progress quite a lot. Take myself for example. If I hadn't used breathdown and AXE after I got somewhat familiar with BH'ing, I wouldn't be able to BH in any direction and do most of the trickjumping I do now. I'm far from a pro in my oppinion, but usually I'm the only ghost with 3.0 K/D + in pub GMs. And often the only one positive, for that matter ...

Hmm, yeah. Was disappointing when they took away the perm axe as that stems the flow of new GMers significantly

Try playing Quake 3. It helps you get really good with BH'ing and aiming your air times.CryingMonkey wrote: »lol, I was practicing 360 jump kills off the patio railings. It's kinda hard to get all the timings down
But there are A LOT of opportunities
@ thisgameowns > Yes. I'm actually very mad and frustrated about that, even though I already had every single coupon gun before the update (somehow I am even happy a little because now I'm so awsome and unique with those 2x perm BC-Axes :P), but it's a major blow to the new player generation's face. -
Yeah, the event aswell, forgot to mention that. Its not just the katanas range, its the fact that they can hold a right click as long as they want before unleashing it. I mean, axe/shovel/kukri you have to be able to time it right. Katana can just let up on the mouse when a gr walks past.
I was kicked from a match, 0-1 because I was helping out last player pinpoint. -.-
The amout of spraying AKs, m60s, and tommies is also... too damn high. There's a reason pros use silenced guns in gm, and your ak spam is drowning that reason out. Use your ears, and you'll never waste a shot...
As for the axe, i totally agree we need to let noobs get a more powerful weapon, but not a katana and not right away. Kindof an ease into it thing. -

You forgot being semi-able to bhop with it sheathed

CryingMonkey > Here for you -> Q3 Defrag Movie
@ Katana Topic > Actually, I would say that Kukri and Kris are way more dangerous in GM for it's one slash/one kill ability. It can allow you to dispatch several ennemies in a couple of seconds, if mastered properly. Especially assuming that the whole GR team will be spraying, headslashing PP'ing people can become as easy as 1,2,3 ... -

It is kinda fun trying to bunny hopping with it whilst holding the right click. After I switched to my Wrench, I felt like I was speeding when I was Bhoping. lmaoCryingMonkey > Here for you -> Q3 Defrag Movie

Got to love the noobs that think they "know" what skill is.
They assume that the level they are at now is the highest or near highest they could ever reach and have no initiative to research the game or do any practice in it to go higher.
Once they do find someone at a higher level, all they think is hack.
Because it is easier to blame someone else for losing then themselves. They take the easy way out because admitting that they aren't at the highest level is to unbelievable for them. And admitting they are not skilled would be also admitting that the players that beat them are.
Average score for me in a 5 round GM when NOT trying.
Average score in a 5 round GM when I am trying.

Scores I get when I find opponents that make me need to try my hardest.
And a typical round when I am the only one with skill on my team.
The hordes of noobs either need to admit they can play better and there are players better then them or leave the game if they can't handle the crushing blows to their ego. -

Exactly. The katana is utterly useless in melee, but it's fairly OP in GM because you can hold the right click, the range is insane, and it's practically unstoppable if you're a camper with BD.
While I hate the sprayers too, you can't really fault them. Not only do they not know how to PP, but they also don't know the mechanics of the ghost invisibility, leading them to spray everywhere for no reason. -

Just the annoying part when you prefire and they tank it and kill you with the right click when most other melees would fail

Well yes, in a 1vs1 situation, the Katana is quite dangerous. Try to gain higher grounds or stick to stairways where BH'ing with the Katana Hold will be a little more of a problem for the ghost. Although, Katana users are fairly easy to take down in teams. This being said, you need 2 people for 1 katana ghosts, a 8v8 full katana ghost team might be a real pain, especially if GR team isn't outfitted with silencers.thisgameowns wrote: »Just the annoying part when you prefire and they tank it and kill you with the right click when most other melees would fail
I still do think that Kukri/Kriss are way more dangerous due to the surfire 1 hit stab and 1 hit headslash, allowing for way more manoevering room and shortening times inbetween deadly strikes. Especially knowing that a very skilled ghost can headslash without interrupting it's BH. -

Rofl you just wrecked all of them by yourself
I challenge you to do this, but with all Melee kills now

For me its just lags when I cant hit
I Bhop through the spraying, right click and see blood, then get sprayed to death. Story of my life. Oh and the dam lag shots that looks like they're walling

True, but the Katana can make a noob be more of like an intermediate player. Since most people just starting out in GM camp most the round, the Katana really cripples any team with one or two sprayers that are holding a MG or an AK. -

"HEYYYY EVERYBODY SPRAY OR WE ALL DIEEEEE GHOSTOVERTHERE? I'LL GET HIM! GUESS.NOT. MAYBE IF I SHOOT THAT ONE PLACE LONG ENOUGH, THE SOUND AND BULLETS WILL RIP OPEN SPACETIME AND ALL GHOSTS WILL BE SUCKED INYO IT!!!" -Ak sprayer logic.
No. Just... no. Please. Just press esc>enter>enter if you're gonna spray.
Honestly, sprayers kill me (by covering up ghost noise) more than a random ghost just gets the best of me or I slip up.
Also, as an anti noob statement, ive taken to shoveling ghosts and still come out with a 3+ kdr, albeit more hackusatioms. -

Got to agree.
The combination of a fast slash, 1 hit headshot (2 to the chest), and light weight (faster B hops) makes a skilled Kukri/Kriss user far harder then a katana. All my hardest games in GM were facing Pro Kukri users with great B hops.
Katana has great power and range but the heavy and slow B hop makes one a sitting duck against good PinPointers. Either need teammates to distract them or enemy players too...
