How much data does CF use per hour?
Hey all, so I live in an area where my internet options are severely limited. I have Sprint wireless as my ISP and they are forcibly changing my unlimited data contract from 2002 on me (and yes its in the contract they can do that, sadly). So my data use will go from unlimited down to only 6 gigs a month (total, up and down) and I need to know if CF is going to put me over that limit.
I'm already canceling Netflix because of this limitation (sadly), and won't be watching much of anything online anymore.
I know in the past I could pretty much play WoW within a 5 gigs a month range. So I need to see if CF (outside of large patches) data usage is going to limit my playing or not.
So how much data does CF use per hour generally?

According to the link below, it is around 1 hr per day for 1 GB a month. That I think is limited by the upload speed of your ISP.

Or get fiber optic if possible. Like Verizon Optimal. They have really fast upload speed which is necessary if you want to play well.
If thats not possible you should try other wireless dealers. Just google it. -
TY for your reply.
I honestly have ZERO options outside of satellite internet (which is slow and still limited) or wireless cell providers like sprint (which are again slow and limited).
I live in farming country and even though there is fiber optic running underground not more than 50 yards away from me along the road, no service offers it for internet (or even cable) in my area.
Every option is capped at a min of 5 GB Sprint offeres 6, which is still VERY limiting. Especially since I mostly use my internet for college stuff, and online classes. I expect the majority of my data will be used on college related stuff and I'll be lucky to fit in any game time.
But thank you for the estimate Tecumtha, at least I know what to expect from playing... it might just have to be really limited from now on. -

No prob anytime. If you have DSL that might work, since DSL uses land phone lines.
But 1 hr a day should be enough if you have to focus on school. -

Gaming tethered on 3G actually isn't as bad as you think, games don't really take much bandwidth either. Speed is OK depending on your provider.
 I completely misread his post I guess xD Thought he was saying he actually played the game on his Ipod... Obviously it isn't ported for that lol xD
I should re-read things when I've just woke up :P -
