Single Player Games?
First of all, are single player games considered "competition" for CF?
If so feel free to remove this thread.
If not, then can someone suggest some good LOW-END FPS/2D Sidescroller games with good single player modes. I don't care for Multilayer.
ATM I'm thinking of Freedom Fighters.
Any input on it? Worth it?

Freedom Fighters is amazing fun, quite high re-play value too.
I'm currently going through Bastion and LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 right now, both are great fun.
A few classics on my Steam I'd recommend:-
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Max Payne
Unreal Tournament
Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Half-Life
Hitman - Blood Money -
Half Life 1
If you've never played it you are a pathetic husk of a human.
I played it, but never finished it.
I had it, but that was right before I reformatted, never got around to redownloading it.
I'll go look for it again since I enjoyed the short time I played.Freedom Fighters is amazing fun, quite high re-play value too.

I'll look into Bastion, Prince Of Persia, max payne, hitman, and et half-life, but I need to watch Harry Potter and Satr Wars to play/enjoy the other games.
I have UT2K4, should I still get Unreal Tournament?i remember when i played zelda and duke nukem on n64
I might get the emulator and replay LOZ:OOTI think theres an AI mode in Soldat.
Maybe not. Check it out anyway.
I'll look into it. -

I've played Lego harry potter years 1 to 4 with my daughter(6) quite a bit.The game would be a lot better if it wasn't full of bugs and crashing. -

Unless you're a die-hard fan of the series, then I wouldn't bother.
But you really don't need to watch Star Wars to enjoy the games, as they all have their own story line and explain everything to the player.Sick2Death wrote: »I've played Lego harry potter years 1 to 4 with my daughter(6) quite a bit.The game would be a lot better if it wasn't full of bugs and crashing.
I've only played through a couple hours or so on the PC, but I've not ran into any issues yet. -
I'm yet to play through Max Payne 2, though I have it on my Steam.
Might download it now actually
I still think MP 1 is better, but I loved how Rockstar games potrayed max payne in the sequel.
Max Payne looked more like a mobster than a cop in the 1st game. -
I'd recommend "To The Moon" if you like single player RPGs with a fantastic story and superb music.
Here's a link to its announcement trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqkJuSV-23U&feature=player_embedded#!
The link to the site is in the description. I highly recommend this game to everyone, actually. The game is great and it would suck if the game just got forgotten. (Keep in mind that there are two sequels coming! )
EDIT: This guy, "Krinku1" uploaded the soundtrack of the game on youtube. If you want to listen to it without playing the game, here's the link to one of the songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsAsJUTsYxs&feature=related The rest of the songs should be in the "recommended videos" section I guess.
EDIT 2: Actually, here's the link to the whole OST: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFB0BFEEBD00F8196&feature=playlist-comment -
Watch the announcement trailer.
EDIT: Copied from their site.
"To the Moon is an indie RPG/adventure game, about two doctors traversing through the memories of a dying man to fulfill his last wish."
Also, the game won Gamestops "Best Story of 2011", so even if it may not sound that fun, I hope that is a good enough reason to why it really is great!
And no, Steam is not required for this game at least. -

I mean if the ones cookz mentioned needed steam XD
Been looking into to the moon and the story seems good, but what exactly do you do as far as gameplay is concerned.
Do you try to solve a mystery? Solve puzzles? -

Well, there is some sort of 'mystery' in the whole game that you solve. There are some puzzles in the game, but the game isn't about the puzzles so they are fairly easy.
Also, I know that you asked Cookz, but just in case if you decided to wonder if this game was on Steam or not. ;P -
the first mercenaries game was good on ps2, dnt see why it wouldnt be on pc...2nd was a bit poor though...
hitman series are always good...
codern wharf-fare one single player was pretty good...
and of course the GTA series (ignore the missions, use weapon cheats, kill ALL the AI)
