And that's pretty much what I was saying, which is why you have to use my method!
<With your method a rifle can only be semi-automatic if it fires once but shows no animations of a bolt lever being pulled. But wouldn't a semi-automatic rifle then fire the same as a bolt action rifle, but only show different, if at all, animations?
If a bolt-action rifle would be a true bolt-action rifle by the player input method, the player would need an extra button that controlled the bolt.
You can't compare an orange with an orange to determine whether or not it is ripe and then continue to compare it with an apple to determine whether or not it is a ripe apple. Cause no matter how hard you try, an orange will never meet the criteria of an apple, no matter how ripe it was. -

Yes, exactly. If a bolt-action rifle would be a true bolt-action rifle by the player input method, the player would need an extra button that controlled the bolt.
That's just not going to happen because it's a game. You have to assume that when you're using a sniper rifle and after a shot it takes your eyes out of the scope, that during that period you're c0cking the weapon.
That's what pretty much everybody else takes for granted. -
So if a semi-automatic rifle would fire the same as a bolt-action rifle, how would it influence the game differently? What advantage would it still hold over a bolt action rifle?

They show different animations. The bolt action sniper rifles make you look out of the scope after every shot, whereas the semi-automatic sniper rifles don't make you look out of the sight but you can't hold down the left mouse button while still scoped to shoot continuously. -

GodsGunman wrote: »Besides what being weaker in power, and getting nothing to make up for what?Currently semi-automatic rifles are weaker than the AWM. The faster it fires, the weaker it becomes. Ontop of that, the bolt animation allows you to briefly observe your surroundings, while with semi-automatic snipers you are stuck in tunnel vision.

And what's your point? I agree with all of that. -

You just cut away the only advantage the "semi-automatic" sniper has by making it semi-automatic, thus firing at the same speed as the AWM, instead of being slightly automatic.
True , It Should Be Faster Then The Awm Since It Has Lower Damage -

Sometimes those 2 bullets on a PSG-1 spree can be a faster win than 1 failing miss on an AWM. Sometimes.. -
