just going to quote what i posted in the other topic

lol just because you dont have to keep clicking your mouse button doesnt mean its not a semi automatic.

    psg is a semi automatic.

hk psg(PrazisionsSchutzenGewehr),german semi automatic with a roller-delayed blow back.

we dont need to learn definitions, you need to learn guns.
  • The psg1 u dont just hold down, u have to click and click, so it is semi, not automatic.
  • PSG is "Semi-Automatic" even though you can hold down left click to fire all 5 shots.
  • People seem to be confused.

In the game, everything pancakes said in this thread is true.

In reality, the weapons are obviously different, making his statements false.

We're fairly obviously talking about the game though, so those saying "well really it's not semi-automatic because in real life..." are trying to prove a point in the wrong place.

Pancakes is not saying that just because they're automatic in the game that means they're automatic in real life, he's telling you what the terms mean.

Semi Automatic: The weapon fires once every time you pull the trigger without you having to c0ck it. If your hand stays with the trigger pulled, the weapon will not shoot again until you release the trigger and re-pull it.

Automatic: The weapon continuously fires while you're pulling the trigger, until it either runs out of bullets or jams.

Bolt-Action: You have to c0ck the weapon after every shot.

Based on those definitions, it's safe to say weapons like the PSG1-Red Dragon and the MSG90 are Automatic weapons in the game, which is what Pancakes was talking about. In reality they're not automatic though.

but even in the game, just because you dont manually do it doesnt mean your character isnt. psg is still a semi automatic gun, no matter how you look at it.

It depends how you look at the action of pressing down the mouse button to fire.

Lots of people think of pressing the mouse button like it's pulling the trigger, which is I believe what the developers want.

if he wants to call it an automatic gun then he can, but he shouldnt get mad if someone calls it a semi automatic since thats what its supposted to be.

and if the developers wanted it to be an automatic gun then whyd they label it otherwise

    http://crossfire.z8games.com/guide_weapons_primary_sniper_rifles.aspx
read the firing modes on the psg.

roller-delayed blowback IS A SEMI AUTOMATIC.

lol how doesnt it matter, they label it as such so shouldnt we? especially since thats what its supposed to be irl not just the game?

PSG-1 isn't full auto. It's semi. PSG-1 RD is more auto.
  • PSG-1 isn't full auto. It's semi. PSG-1 RD is more auto.

ive never used psg red dragon so i wouldnt know how it. he says psg-1, doesnt say anything about the red dragon, but even at that it still says the same description under psg red dragon as it does for the normal psg. semi automatic either way, just because one shoots faster doesnt matter.

yes i know but they label it as a semi automatic, and by they i mean Z8. so obviously they didnt want it to be an "automatic" or else they wouldve labeled it as one. which still makes both of you incorrect. i agree with alot of your posts gunman but not so much this one.

This argument is based purely on opinions so neither of us can be proven right.

This argument can go on forever.

its not an opinion, i had and shown facts on both ends. from z8's point of view on the gun and what the gun is supposed to be.

youre posting your opinion im posting what it is. it can go on forever if youd like :)

The info from the game can't be trusted.

The stats are all wrong, making everything they say in the game questionable.

lol, you just like argueing dont you? :(
  • you guys are yet over looking a very important assumption. That is, who is the person using a the gun. In my hands psg is semi auto, but in the hands of an hacker, psg is fully automatic. Same applies to bolt action guns.SO lets end this here by saying the psg is both semi and fully automatic. :D everybody wins
  • so what is my beloved deagle & masuer & m66?

deagle = gas-operated semi automatic pistol

mauser = german semi automatic pistol

m66 = semi auto pistol that uses .357 mags

    :)

Under US Federal law definition, an automatic weapon is any weapon, with one depression of the trigger, can fire more than one round. Meaning any burst-capable weapons become automatic firearms and are subject to different laws than semi-automatic firearms.

Another GREAT example how this game is NOT REALISTIC!
This won't be about the PSG, but rather the Anaconda-Adv. How in the hell are you supposed to shoot 8 rounds in a 6 cartridge cylinder?
    thats not very nice.
    +1 to that too :)

Magic! For the same reason that it's completely silent. ;)
  • Magic! For the same reason that it's completely silent. ;)

    Thanks for the idea Kawaii!

Another example on how this game is also unrealistic, the term Silencer for all the weapons with such an item over the barrel. They are actually suppressors, because they do not completely mute the sound of a gunshot, only lower it.

    Puff! The Magic Dragon!

Can you shoot 2 or more bullets after holding down a click once on the PSG-1? No. But can you do it on the PSG-1 RD? Yes. That's what makes "automatic". And all I did was correct him: I said that the PSG-1 isn't automatic. It's semi.

Actually you can hold down the left mouse click on both rifles... and the ingame definition makes it automatic... but in reality the gun can only be fired in a semi-automatic manner, with multiple trigger depression for multiple shots.
  • What? I tried holding down the left click on the PSG in Alaska. It made me stare at the enemy and I got fragged.
  • If PSG1 was "semi-auto" in he game it would be spammable just like the DE is. That would kill it.

I believe that's why the developpers decided to make it a very slow automatic weapon. Oh well, SmileG4ys. What can you expect from them? Not even know that it's a semi-auto rifle..

It's just like DSR1 being a BOLT-ACTION rifle, yet there's no bolt animation. Ammunition magically appears in the barrel as brass magically disappears. F''cking dumb SmileG4ys. Oh well.

I think it's only either scoping in, or not scoping in at all.. I forgot and too lazy to test it out again.

Damn I forgot about the DSR-1 being bolt-action. I'm losing my touch :o
  • Meh..
Why is this even a concern?

    Derp

Leave him be...He probably gets mad at people when they misspell words or forget to lift the toilet seat and flush.
