So, what are the Top 5 headsets for GM/S&D? Here is the list I have now.

1)Microsoft Lifechat LX 3000(Suggested by GodsGunman)
2)Turtle Beaches(Suggested by DeadShot)

4)Siberia V2(Suggested by Dunder)

I dunno, but I use my Sennheiser 280 Pros :P
Daily use for music and CF. Does a great job, about $100

Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 is 1/4 the price of turtlebeaches, and it's better.

I have one of each, I prefer my lifechat for crossfire

You need to hear reloads, foot steps and shots in SnD and GM to kill your opponents, while in TD you can just rush, die and respawn.

Because I don't shift walk in Egypt or Zone 13. Nor do I shift walk myself to the escape portal.

Mainly because those are the main 2 modes that I play.

I use a 15 dollar headset and have my sound at 6 or below. I hear everything just fine. Why do you need a headset that costs 50$+?

I have used 4-5$ earphones all this time, and as far I know this game doesn't require anything over them...not to mention you don't need full volume on them and you can easily pinpoint without even trying.

I used to use my speakers to pinpoint, but you know that's not a good thing with those gold minimi machinegun idiots around...

If you are buying a serious headset, make sure your not doing it for this game in specific. I would rather buy them for xbox or what ever console you might have.

But but Gods said that they would be a major improvement. I want to get better at GM, and for that my leader told me to go shopping. I trust my leader so.. Bye bye Apple Earphones. I'll still use you for my iPod though

I give the headset 3 months. 5 if you treat it well. My Logitech headsets never lasted very long.

I'm on my second one, my first one lasted a couple years until my brother broke it, the one I'm on now has lasted about a year without any problems.

Steelseries are good aswell..

I got Logitech G930 USB Connector Circumaural Wireless Gaming Headset 7.1 surround sound. nice to not have a wire in your way and if they go dead while your playing plug them in keep playing.$160 i got them for $107. probably to much for you. you can hear every little thing. funny people think i hack but i can hear them way before they get to me.

Turtlebeaches are far superior to the Lifechat, I've had both, the Turtlebeaches are far far superior if your soundcard is decent.

Edit: the lifechat's aren't durable, mine broke by falling off the edge of my desk.

TurtleBeach reigns supreme, since the whole of SUaF use them, including myself.

But fact is, you can have the best headset out there, if your sound card doesn't match up, you're only wasting money.
