PS3 is by far a better all round product.
Pretty much same price as xbox.
Doubles up as a BluRay player.

The controller makes more sense and is more comfortable (denying this is ******ed... look at the design for typical PC controllers... Theyre typically PS shaped.)
PSN do some decent deals... you get a bunch of free stuff and services like online storage and free games if you do pay their premium service.

Their motion sensor product is by far superior to the Kinect. Kinect is a joke.
Why would you buy an Xbox just for Halo? Not to mention they overheat, you so much as fart in the same room, the disturbance in the air will cause the disc to shake and destroy it in the console... they break easily. RROD anyone? Everyone I know that owns an xbox has got it before.I prefer Xbox.

I like the user interface more, the majority of my friends have it, It gets a lot of content that I give a crap about first, I like the community more, I like the controller more, it has cross-game voice chat, etc...

In all honesty yes, a free console is dumb when the money could be better spent towards something that can increase general productivity and not just play bad games.
I use my PC for gaming, and some graphic design stuff, and some low level programming, and word document writing, and basically everything.
Ooooh look at my console it plays games ooooooh.
he obviously has a pc... so getting another pc would be the waste of money here....
ps3 has better graphics. blu-ray is a gimmick. it depends on what games you want to play. and which controller feels better. -

bluray is only a gimmick depending on how you look at it. His PC obviously isn't capable of most things given the fact he lags on UT2k4...
Therefore getting a PC that is more capable of productivity and increasing it would be a superior choice. -
Personally, I prefer the Xbox controllers. I'd still get a PS3 though, the main reason being that most of my non pc friends have it rather than Xbox. If you're going to go for one then go for the one you know your friends already have, in the end there's little difference between the two, they both do the same thing.

5. The controller isnt designed properly... you dont hold the controller at an angle.. why is the left analog stick near the top? thats ... just... wow. Not to mention it doesnt fit your hand properly... you got the bigass battery at the back... I mean.. what the hell? At least PS3 has a small rechargable battery with a FREE USB to charge it....
6. Pointless gimmick. If I want to talk to people who arent playing the same game as me.. I use Skype... not some muffled crap thats barely tolerable.
I dont know why you would want to talk to people that arent playing the same game as you... Its distracting... If you want to talk to your friends... Use the telephone.

For 200 dollars I can build a sandy bridge rig, with a 9800 gt, and around 4 gigs of ddr3 ram.
In other words hardware that is superior to not only the Xbox and the Ps3, but also leaves an upgrade path to higher end hardware in the future so you don't have to buy an all new rig or console.
Shut up Frisky, we aren't all dumb and buy alienware. -

lol i bought a LAPTOP not a tower. laptops that can perform are not cheap.
it was same price as any other laptop with same specs.
only thing is i get extras and my build quality is a lot better. -

No laptops can perform the way a Desktop can.
If youre buying a laptop for gaming, you may aswell by a desktop.
, they also gave me a thinkpad but i have to figure out what's wrong with it when i have the time.
