Recording Crossfire?

Hey everyone, i have some mad skills with sony vegas and would love to create and edit a CF montage. However im trying to find a good recording program.

Ive tried:
Camtasia (sucks with fps)
Hypercam (just isnt good)


Now, i'm trying to get FRAPS to work because thats what most people use. I have the full version of 2.6.4. I first start fraps ( i dont minimise or exit out of it once loaded) I then start Crossfire. But i dont get the yellow fps numbers in any of the corners, and it wont record. Does anyone know what is wrong?

If you think there's a better program (that has good fps), or know what to do to fix this please, please respond
