im pretty sure the monitor wouldnt matter. btw my monitor is HP 2309 seriese wide lcd monitor (1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz) )
it matters because it doesn't output more than 60 frames a second. -

Oh I don't know.. I don't exactly have an opinion to it since the censoring in Australia are quite odd x\
Either way I'd probably seeing someone with that kind of computer be playing BF3 or something hardcore that needs the computer you would have :l -
' wrote:[KarlThePro;2599680']how come the input is 200 fps it dispalys?
yea, the input is 200 but the output is only 60 because that's all your monitor can output. that is why you should have bought one of those 120hz monitors on the market with your high-end computer because the difference is day and night. -
' wrote:[KarlThePro;2599648']Hey I was wondering why the Crossfires frames per second got capped down to 200 fps..
My pc is 12gb ram and core i7 processor with 8 cores running @ 3.40 ghz, my fps would be well over 600 fps if crossfire didn't cap it
is there a way to uncap it? Someone told me he modded a file in the crossfire folder which made his fps is 600 fps because he has alienware.
Go play Crysis 2 or MW3 -

My Monitor can display 200hz at 800x600 and 160hz at 1024x768. ggnore.
I have a 120hz Samsung 2233rz "gaming" LCD monitor, but it isn't as smooth as my CRT (ESPECIALLY at under 120 fps) so I'm keeping it on the ground until either my CRT dies (and boy is it close to dying) or I'm forced to play a game that's locked at 60 hz on CRT's in directX 10+ (*cough* crysis, *cough). But I'm tempted to get a Sony FW700....
That being said, Why DO you want more than 200 fps? Even if you're using 3d stereo mode, you don't need that much...
BTW, assuming you're using a CRT and NOT a LCD screen (since even 120hz gaming LCD's are not quite as smooth as a CRT), the human eye *CAN* distinguish between 100 FPS and 200 FPS, but it can ONLY do so at FAST movements. If you're turning slowly, all you need is 85 hz on a CRT (85 FPS assuming vsync is on). I find 85 hz the bare minimum required, unless you're playing a really old game that's locked at 60 FPS.
And why are you playing Crossfire on such a high end computer? If you can afford such a computer, you can afford Battlefield 3, MW3, and God knows what else....
(of course if you're playing CF with friends, that's different....) -

Tastelimes:
The problem with 120hz gaming monitors is that they pretty much suck trash (besides the low input lag) for ANY games that are locked at something under 120 FPS. Even 100 fps isn't enough. The biggest current example is Modern warfare 3, which is locked at 91 FPS. Black Ops is at least a properly PC designed game where you can use the console to unlock the FPS as high as 500 (Treyarch are PC fans). But in MW3, the console is locked, and you play MW3 at 91 FPS on a 120hz LCD, you might as well be using a 60 hz screen instead
91 FPS looks like utter (Censored) on a 120hz gaming LCD.
And for all of you CRT haters, CRT people can set their refresh rate to 90 hz and get nice smoothness to deal with that 90 fps cap. -

You got 8cores and you only have 3.4 ghz? My Intel i7-3930K can easily reach 3.7 with out over clocking. -

Jet Fighter pilots are able to see and recall the model and make of an enemy aircraft after seeing it for less than 1/200th of a second. So yes the human eye is capable of differentiating past 200 fps.
And lol at 60Hz monitor. -
