but its still better.
coke + hops = no alcohol = no fun
That's why I said Tool had to decide for herself. I still wanted to show her some benchmarks so she wouldn't pay 100€ for something that wouldn't give a big performance difference.
And bish, julmust is awesome.<3 -

Send me some.... I cant get it here...
I bet the i7 performs diff in a desktop than a laptop too..
Lmao... its "christmas juice"
haha -
That is the truth. You should not even try to compare the laptop CPUs with the desktop CPUs. They don't only differ in the clock speed but also often in the number of cores...Send me some.... I cant get it here...

If you are buying a retail package i5 CPU the HSF cooler which comes with it is plenty adequate unless you are considering overclocking right away.
I have an i7 which with the included retail HSF (same as the i5 HSF) idles at around 30c, rising to 40c when playing games or video encoding. (oh, and this is with my HSF turned down to minimum speed)
Personally, I would leave out that extra HSF and use the money for some faster ram, maybe 1866 instead of 1333.

Apart from that it looks like a nice build. -
this will be my final setup, unless some pro-builder (not cookz) has serious concerns...

Get a 700w PSU for that GTX 580. 600w is the minimum requirement for a 580. So you should always get a bit higher than the minimum req.
And that SSD is a SATAII. You should get a SATAIII SSD like this one since your board supports it. SATAIII will be almost twice as fast. -

hm i picked 1866 now. not sure about the other FAN though. id rather be....cool than sorry.. -
If you can afford the HSF as well, why not. Anyway, here's my i7 temps with the stock HSF. Bearing in mind I don't have a graphics cards yet so the i7 HD3000 is doing all the graphics work.
I've been searching for a 6950 with dual bios switch for 2 months and it seems they have all sold out, all the cards now are the newer version without the ability to be flashed so i'll be getting ordering a 6970 next week. Don't see much difference between that and a 580 which costs quite a bit more (even though I did get an i7 instead of an i5 which I know wasn't the most economical!).
Probably more of a personal opinion over nVidia and ATI/AMD.

Good point on the SSD, however I think 60GB is not really enough, remember you need to install your OS and primary applications, maybe a few games on the SSD and have a little room to spare for temporary video encoding files, with the HDD being for storage.
This is what I have and it looks to be cheaper than the Intel.

The 650W PSU is probably adequate if the min spec for the 580 is 600W, however slightly higher won't hurt. But apart from higher initial cost for the PSU you will also be paying more for electricity to run it. -
ok, well. think that system is on steroids.
the system i posted already is a huge step out of pre-built-ville for me. it will do.
You'll want decent clearance between the minimum wattage and what you actually have, 650w should be fine, but you may want and SLI setup in the future. I took one six-pin out of my 680w GPU before, got 2-3 fps on CF, jaja.
Not saying that's going to happen, but you'll want to give your GPU all the power it needs. -

thanks. i ll pick a 700 to be sure. green pc is so 2010 anyways.
almost as good as the real cookz.
