I need people from the competitive community.

Who are interested in making it better to add me on xfire. I want to see how many people there really are. Phenatik had a great idea but we would need a good number of people, that we could trust, to do it.

My xfire is miriacf and i'm always on the SUAF mumble if you just want to talk to me there.

Preferably people with decent enough PCs to record in-game footage.

Nah, basically we are just going to create a series of comprehensive guides for pubbers who don't know any of the site calls or how to work in an actual team environment. There are a few other things we are planning on, but that will come once I have a chance to talk to polleus and get a few responses from this.
  • This won't work because most pubstars that will ever think of playing this game competitvely already knows what to call. You also cannot teach people how to play in a team, those are based on experience and chemistry.

    couldn't disagree more

but i don't think some one with dat in their name and mod quotes in their sig is going to be able to teach competitive knowledge
  • This can be done, but a monkey cant teach a pig how to be a monkey.
  • can lead a horse to water but you can not expect it to drink.
  • Can take your dog out to take a dump, but you can't expect that he will.
  • Guys, why the hell do you think hes asking for YOUR xfire. he knows hes not the best, hes asking for YOUR help. So stop being pessimist and if you wish to help out then answer. You guys complain and complain, but then trash every idea that people come up with.
  • maybe it would help a few pub stars switch over to the competitive community. I know a few pub stars that won't play competitively because they don't know the names of certain spots and don't want to look silly in front of other people. Videos they would watch to learn would help i think.

To be fair I understand their point. No, I'm not that great of a player. but you're right. That's why I want people who are known for being reasonably good at this game. I wouldn't trust someone with a year or two experience across several accounts, albeit in bad teams. To know what a spot is called.

yes but us pub teams need to get to know are players strong point and weak point and make up are own strats. not follow someone elses. many pub teams have better things to do but good luck in what your doing.

I didn't say anything about teaching strats. That is something your team needs to do together. However teaching basic map knowledge and explaining the concept of gamesense among other things are something that can be reasonably well explained.
  • Cleaned. We don't need useless posters in here. Stay out if you don't want to help.

You would have a picture of a gay man in your avatar.
  • Oh bro I love this idea. When Phi and I first started playing this game we tried to learn stuff and he searched for videos like what your idea describes. Good luck, looking forward to the videos if they happen. I would offer to help, but I'm bad and playing on a laptop :)

    Hi sexy .
  • some one should get someone to make a cool intro
  • first off there are no videos of this cause it's useless. If you want to start being "competitive" then it doesn't take much since the standard is about moch's level which is fairly low and reasonable for a 1 weeks playtime.

You learn names of positions/spots when you're on the team. You learn the spots as you go. Once you're in a decent team you'll probably make names of your own as a team.

you guys are wasting your time. People who say they want to play "competitive" but cannot due to them being afraid to ask what a certain spot is called will more than likely revert back to pubbing anyway

    I can help.

Keep personal insults out of this.

Most of the spot names are standardized and the same across teams, but pubbers don't generally know even the general spots with a few exceptions.

Be that as it may it is better than sitting back and doing NOTHING. If we get 3 or 4 pubbers to stay that is 3 or 4 more players than we had before.

I understand your points but you are failing to see the larger picture.

3 or 4 more players? people don't start playing "competitive" because they finally know the name of positions. It's just a game and they'll play it as they want to play it. People get into competitive because they like the idea of playing with/against better players.

I as well as many others started playing this game on the competitive side. Guess what we didn't need a stupid video to tell us why yellow is called yellow, why red room is called red room, why a connector is called a connect..., or why long is long and short is fkin sh0rt...(short is blocked here wtf?) Honestly it doesn't take a genius to figure it out and once you start playing with people who call properly(about 1% of the competitive community) you'll learn the map quickly.

boxes are still boxes, windows are still windows and stairs are still stairs. There are 13 year olds in the "competitive" community for crying out loud. Like honestly who needs a fkin video. It would be just as pointless as asnipe's video of the rank SS's even though that video has 1 million views atm(lol)

PS: sorry for the personal insult towards moch. I just have very high standards and when I say decent you might be thinking dj thunder when in reality i'm thinking about someone from a top team.

You're right, they don't start playing because of it. However it gives them resources in case they DID need it. No, it won't make people start playing. However it gets our foot in the door of furthering our efforts.

You have made reasonable points, why don't you offer up a suggestion that the community could work together on to try and improve itself. Or are you just going to continue to downgrade the efforts people are starting to try and make?

i'm a realist. My incite is too valuable for a messed up community such as this. You're better off playing it out until the game dies and move on to a better life(a life without CF)
