I guess I'll tell them the story in shortform.
There once was a fellow we will call "dean" for now.
Dean was an innocent boy, very cute, and innocent. And then he met a wonderful girl online. And they fell in love. And then he found out his girlfriend was Dave.

Dear DatMuffin, your story wasn't as epic as I thought it was going to be. I definitely am a little disappointed. But oh well, I usually end up disappointed from listening to guys like you... *sigh*
Oh question!!! Is it possible that maybe perhaps somehow we didn't meet online? Or do you forget there is a real world outside your little computer box thingy? -
