This thread contains mostly random rambling (cause for close, since you mentioned it in the OP).
But oh well, I'll comment on what I think the point is.


Its impossible to moderate without bias. Sometimes its very much the right thing to do.
We try though, and there are usually 4 other moderators online that can quickly adjust a mistake or something overlooked by someone else.

Of course, users can't see other users infractions so "i got one but he didunt!" is usually just plain wrong.
The cases where its not wrong, personal bias comes in to play.
If you're someone who gets three infractions a week, you're probably gonna be handled harsher than someone new who bypassed the censor because you did, trying to fit in.

As for the blank lines thing, I think I'm pretty much the only one who infracts for it, and I don't always do it.
You don't need 500 blank lines to make a 'surprise' point at the bottom of a post.
It messes up the forum, causes unnecessary scrolling and is just plain awful.
If I have to scroll for 5 seconds to find a "lol" at the end, I'll get ****ed.
I'll infract you, since its spam. If its hilarious, I'll leave it.
Personal bias - of course.
But in the first case, its pointless spam.
In the second case, its humorous and doesn't really motivate an infraction.
The general mood on the forum for me goes before anything, so fun stuff - while perhaps breaking some minor rule, can be overlooked.


As you can see, personal bias is a huge part of forum moderation.
Thats why we're 10 (?) personalities judging each case differently, so what I overlook - someone else could infract for - for good reason, since it actually IS a rule violation.

so when you feel you need to demean others by calling them "immature prepubecents" thats ok.yea well the community is made up of different personalitiues and i dont see no sympathy for us.none of us are perfect but dont preach to me when ppl blatantly abuse powers just as much as the community abuses alts to post or other things to avoid the real issues.you talk down to ppl well guess what,dont expect a cheery convo in return.your game moderators do that part of the job.dont try lecturing everyone on your point of view as if its the correct and only 1.we all have opinions and being a mod doesnt make it ok to insult others and then step back and say oh it wasnt directed at you.

I don't infract if the post in my opinion contributed more to the forum in terms of humor or intelligence than the potential rule violation (bypassing the censor) harmed the forum.


The main thing is that we don't infract for stuff that AREN'T rule violations.
