Can't play CF anymore
Hey guys,
So well right after the update I tried to join a game in one of the UK servers. Anyway it loaded to 50 or 75% and then I had a blackscreen and the game crashed. So I started cf again and visited the item shop and the BL. I wanted try some of the new weapons in the shooting range and I hag the same error again.
First I thought it was a problem with smoothUI, so I removed it using the mod remover. After that I couldn't even join a channel. Now every time I try to join a channel I get this black screen again and the game crash.

okay so I deleted crossfire with the uninstaller and downloaded it again. I installed it and after the update I was able to join channels again. But now I can't join any rooms, I can't even go to the shooting range.
I complete removed the game from my computer and installed it again, I don't know what else to do.
What did you guys exactly changed with the last update? Did you guys just add some new weapons and the new mode or did you also changed something on the engine. -
Something interesting I noticed while trying to troubleshoot this was that when I start the launcher, MDM starts to run. Before the patch I never saw it. If I could run Process Explorer, I could see the parent process, but X-Trap doesn't allow PE to run while CF is up. I wonder if the devs added some code to launch MDM and forgot to remove it? While probably not related this error, I just have a problem with MDM running when it did not run before.
Add: Killing MDM in task manager does not stop the client MFC error, or the channel select shutdown. -
Update: Uninstalling, deleting the Z8 folder in Program Files, and installing CF on a different drive allowed me to play normally. There may have been leftover files from SmoothUI that caused problems, I can't be sure. I didn't have a chance to play the new mode because of the time it took to do all that. I also seem to have misplaced about 2.5 Gig of space on my main drive, spent some time trying to see where it may have walked off to.

This happened to me as well. All you need to do is re-install CF and it'll fix the issue. That's why I keep a recent installer in my downloads folder.
Also, it's not a problem with SmoothUI. I use Project Android and it was also doing this to me. After removing it, and replacing all REZ files with the originals, it still messed up.
Uninstall Cross Fire >> Re-install to the same place >> Put mods back on >> Play the game -
that is nothing my bug is worse i cant EVEN START CROSSFIRE OR EVEN REINSTALLING IT!!
i had this problem before the patch. restart your computer, keep pressing f8 until screen pops up, run in safe mode WITH networking, then select administrator, and install crossfire on that. once its done restart computer and go to your profile as u normally would. it should be there installed. -

I din't put my mods back in yet, I'll wait for that. -

You talking about the black screen or KilliDme's problem? -
I can enter the shootingrange again. So when you try to enter the shootingrange and the screen turns black just wait, don't shut down your game. You have to wait like a minute and the game continues to load where it stopped.
I can enter the shootingrange but I'm still not able to join a game. When I try to join a game it says connection delayed or something like that. -
gyus i cant play CF too.
when i get in my pass and press ok then it shows me:
The service is not available in your region.
i try to play 5 days now and i cant. can anyone help me? -

Did you delete every trace of SmoothUI from your system? I even went into all the directories in Documents and Settings and deleted them there. Then I installed the game on my second drive. Other than the slow starts and finishes to games, I have not had any issues.
I did, I completely removed Crossfire and all the folders and then I reinstalled it. I installed it D this time since i have only like 10 or 20 GB free on C.
