Is that a good build?
So I was thinking of buying a PS3, then I was like, I'll probably spend most of my time on a computer anyway so why not pimp it? I figured out pimping the computer just how I wanted was way more expensive than buying a PS3.. Anyway, what do you think of this build? Should I change anything?

Mass overpay. You still probably won't get more than 150fps. I annihilate this game with 90fps on an Opteron 165 chip and a Radeon 4850. Let me part this out for you:
i5 2500k & motherboard --> $270
8GB 1600mHz ddr3 ram --> $40
Decent case w/fans --> $50-70
128GB SSD --> $130 AR (after rebate)
POS optical drive --> $20
700W PSU (sufficient) --> $50 AR / Combo deal
Random 19" LCD Panel --> $65
Logitech Mx518 mouse --> $15
Razer Lycosa keyboard --> $40
NO SOUND CARD --> $0
POS headset --> $10
Radeon 5770 --> $80 (or $160 for crossfire mode)
Windows 7 upgrade for students --> $30
First of all, the i5 2500k and the i7 2600k have no difference except for hyperthreading, which won't matter in 95% of situations. Quad core is enough for almost everything, I don't see why you need "eight" cores with hyperthreading. Save yourself $100. Second, you won't notice the difference between 8GB of ram and 16GB of ram...ever. Third, SSD...is good. Fourth, you should pirate films instead of playing them through an optical drive. Also, how much Blu Ray writing are you really going to do? Fifth, a 700W PSU is more than enough for a single card system. Sixth, unless you're some kind of graphics junkie, you don't need to spend $300 on a monitor. And even if you were, you should just go IPS. Seventh, a crappy lil mouse and keyboard will suffice for this terrible game. I played with a 7 year old wireless optical mouse for the majority of the last two years. Eigth, a sound card will not help you much in this game. Again, unless you're an audiophile or something, a standard card/whatever came with your mobo ought to be alright, as well as a random headset. Ninth, one or two Radeon 5770's will wreck this game pretty well, and they're cheap as dirt. And tenth, anyone who pays more than $30 for Windows is just crazy.
EDIT: Oh, and that Corsair CPU cooler is a good choice, but it's dropped as low as $40 lately. Don't o-pay. -

I'll keep that in mind before buying anything. I just wanted to get the best of the best, for the future. I don't want to upgrade anytime later you know? Thanks anyway. -

There are only two absolute facts of life: women are crazy, and electronics depreciate. Your $2000 computer will be $400 in five years time. -
You might want to go for 2 GTX570's in SLI instead of that GTX590.
As CPU cooler you should get a Noctua NH-D14 instead of one of those premade watercooling solutions that aren't better than Artic cooling.
Also, if you're getting a 27" monitor, get a decent one that can run at 2600x1440 or 2600x1600.
RAT9 is a terrible mouse, get a SS Xai or a WMO 3.0 .
You should also pick a decent mechanical keyboard instead of one that features a lot of gimmicks.
Oh, and a higher Wattage power supply so you've got some headroom, 1000W should be OK. -
and i doubt its worth getting a sound card?
the one built into your mobo will be more than good enough, so no point spending the $140 on that...
but dnt listen to the noob kid, you'll max out cf easily on that...
but yeah, click here to see wt the minimum psu wattage you'll need is...and then get one bigger (by at least 100W) bearing in mind you'll prob need at least 3 case fans...
might be worth getting a SSD as well - helps load up programs you use//os much faster that a HDD, but a 64gb one with your 2tb hdd should be fine!
monitor, you want one with a low response time, high contrast ratio, and high resolution really...and HDMI input obv...but desk size shouldnt be an issue - wall mount it!!
and you can save $140 for the windows os if you look at in certain places
but on the whole looks like it should be a nice build...
BUT don't forget you also need to get visual drives (dvd drives etc) for it!
for the build that you have put up with a few basic extras (case fans, virtual drives etc plus oc'ing the cpu to 3.9ghz) i come up with a minimum figure of 888w, so you need to be looking around the 1000w mark to be safe (and obv get one with surge protection etc...) -
Make them buy me a horse, new computer, own apartment, driving license..Not caring about price that much, parents are paying for it anyway.
..Make them buy me a car as 21st birthday which is in.. 13 days! <*^_^*>Maybe they will in 4 years. In Egypt you must be over 21 years old to drive.
Pwetty pwease? -

If you use an analog headset or a pair of good analog speakers, you'll have much better sound with one of those soundcards compared to an onboard one. -

I'm in love with the RAT, I use Photoshop a lot so sometimes I just need to move that ONE pixel, and I can't because the mouse is too fast. Tried Photoshop with RAT it was awesome because of that button sniper thingy, Dramatically decreases DPI just I want as long as I'm holding it. Never heard of SS or WMO though, I'll google them. -

Of course! Me aswell..
It's just that I don't have a license so police wouldn't like me driving..

That's about as big as overkill can get.
seconded.I'm not that much into computers so sorry if I ask too much questions.
its ok! we all started like you!!
when i built my first one, i was bugging 2/3 people loads :P - so im happy to help! -
stick to console, cause once 1 of those items break, you'll end up spending all over again.
thats exactly the same with a console? bt IF (very rare) one of the thing does break, he'll know what, and hot to fix it.
whereas you'd have to buy a whole new console. -
