They both look really cool. The first one looks like a traditional M16, but the second one looks more "advanced" and "customized".

Nice.

This totally should be put into CF.

As an owner of the M16A2 and the M16, There should be a gun to fill in the gap.

Realism incoming

The second design could NOT be an M16A1; the carry-handle sight was not removable until the A3 was released.

Despite this, both are very nice designs.

Custom jobs, bro. Any soldier dedicated enough could either purchase a custom receiver, commission one, or file it off himself. As for the picatinny rails... Hey, look over there!
