Best antivirus!
I just performed a successful reformat and my computer is working faster than ever now.
I want to thank anybody who helped me in the threads I made/
Now for the purpose of this thread.
I need a new antivirus before I start downloading stuff.
Before I reformatted I used AVAST,but I'm not sure if it's the best or not.
Any recommendations, and why?

Anti-virus is pretty much a programmed virus to track other viruses. If you really need one I suggest AVG.
But other then that don't use an Anti-Virus. Just keep reformatting when your computer is slowed down. That's what I do. And so far I only did it once this 2-3 years. -

But I need a 24/7 kinda deal, not one that only scans and deletes when you open it up.
The main reason I want an anti-virus that's always running is the fact that I live with a a sister and cousin who use the computer.
They don't know how to download anything, and if they do download something with a virus I want to be protected. -

Norton is good for family use, gaming....not so much.. to many reported conflicts -
Then Norton is not for me.
I do minor gaming, but I don't want anymore gaming issues than I already have >.<
Well the computer games I play are Cross Fire, occasionally CS:S, Minecraft and Trackmania. That's it. But that is just my sight on things. -

I used norton Internet security and it was a piece of crap...TheGunnerCO wrote: »I strongly recommend kapersky
I got the newer version of Norton 360 and it doesn't interfere like the Internet security..
If you want a very good virus protection id get Norton 360.. only reason why I recommend that is because it comes with a Registry cleaner.
Therefore keeps your pc fast.
THEN AGAIN norton eats up your ram. so as Long as u have 3gb ram at least then go at it. -
