I just tested it to confirm and the /d doesn't work with macros. :[
Did you get it to work Rory? Or have you just not tested it yourself? Though I guess it doesn't really matter, it's not like typing /d takes an outrageous amount of effort..
It does when your playing GM and player spam chat covers a good portion of your screen which happens to be where the ghost strikes from...
You enter typing mode, two letters is more than enough time to get killed since you can't move, let alone have enough reaction to beat a ghost.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. -

I wouldn't know, chats are tiny on my 27" screen. ;P -

But the power one would feel by just pressing one button and shutting someone up (at least on their screen) would be epic and with the amount of useless trash talk in games a macro would be like heaven. -
the game is played by tons of kids, if you really are a teacher you should understand that most kids who aren't english aren't good at english
forcing them to speak english when they can't is not the way to get more players, which is what z8 wantsMaking an effort doesn't mean it has to be flawless.
If people would come to your country without making an effort to communicate in your language, or at least a language you can understand, then you too would be annoyed with them.
The same goes for this game. This game is hosted by English-speaking countries, and we are all just visitors here. If we don't make an effort to adjust to our host, then we have no place being here.

the game is international, for some reason everyone can play, im not saying people shouldn't speak english, i personally want them to speak english, but you can't compare this game to some immigrant in a country, forcing people to speak english would be good for us, but not good for business -
A /mute function to mute/disable the chat ingame would be really nice. That way you don't generalise a certain group of people, and the annoying spam is gone. Nowadays the chat is only spam anyway (has always been that way, as far as I know - besides the clanmatches etc)..
I don't know why they haven't implemented such a thing yet, or even thought about it, since I'm pretty sure I suggested something like a chat mute feature 2 years ago. -

Well when you say as a staff member "They shouldn't be playing an English game if they can't speak English" it is a touch hypocritical since the sign up page offers a PT translation.
Quoted from that translated page:
"Bem-vindo ao Z8GAMES
Criar a sua conta Z8Games é rápido, gratuito e fácil. Basta preencher o pequeno formulário
seguinte, e você terá acesso à todos grandes títulos da Z8Games.
Será necessário ativar sua conta na Z8Games através o endereço de e-mail que você nos forneceu."
The signup page I take it is for non English speaking Portuguese players?, otherwise if they could speak English and understand English there would be no need for the translation - right?
So non English speaking players should be playing the game, especially PT speaking ones.
Hope that clears up the confusion:) -

Actually they shouldnt. There is no servers over there. Although, z8 would like to make servers there. But until they get a server over there (so far they arent allowed to) people who live in BR (And others - AUS, Zealand, RUS, etc..) shouldnt be here. -

I don't compare this game to some immigrant. I compare this game to tourism, which is also a business. A business that doesn't work without communication.

So because there are no servers over there in their country then they shouldn't be on this site/game? That is like saying British people should not be on any website hosted within another country.
The only reasonable argument for keeping foreigners off would be that this game is licensed for NA/UK and only those regions should be playing, except this company states categorically they won't restrict it to just those countries and they offer the sign up page translated in PT.
So as I said foreign players and Esp PT's should be playing this game, as the registration page welcomes them, not unless you think the translation is just there for English/US people that speak PT or for PT people that live in the US/UK to sign up more easier. Then again if the game is suipposed to be English only why cater for any non-English speaking people no matter where they are located even if that be the US/UK? -

Im not affiliated with Z8Games or G4Box... im not a staff member. Im not employed by them. This isnt my job.
I stand by what I say. Non-English speakers shouldnt be playing this game for the same reason I dont play foreign games. -

Ok, cool if it's your opinion then it's not hypocritical and your entitled to your opinion.
But as I already stated above they actually should (even though I share your opinion on this). -

Brazil gov wont allow any servers in their country. Why should we allow them in our games? -

I speak another language, but for the sake of the ability of understanding EVERYONE in the game, make it so English is required or something.
Seriosly nerve racking talking to these bufoons who purposely speak spanish, chinese, vietnamese, portuguese, etc.
this wouldnt happen this way by bannin all other languages. but i wish

It's not Brazil it's the game makers, they allow licenses wherever they want to allow them and maybe there is a license that can be leased for Brazil but nobody wants it.
And like I said we shouldn't allow non-English speakers IMO so I'm not arguing with you on that, but rather the fact that Z8 does want non-English speaking people, hence they should be allowed to speak non-English in game.
What is the point of a translation in PT on the signup page? Obviously it is for people that can't speak English else they would use the regular English page and wouldn't need a translation right?
And who put the translation tool there? Z8games.
Obviously anyone can translate a page into any language using readily available tools, but when a website owner actually puts up translation tools they are catering for those regions for which the translation was provided. -

Buffoon.
MY OWN LANGUAGE isnt english. Its just annoying when other nationalities use that to their advantage or disadvantage.
For the sake of communication PLEASE PLEASE type in english. -

I has an idea. Z8 should allow ANY players to play (Like now) but the only difference is, when you create an account, it requires you list where you are currently staying. Depending on where you are, currently, will decide whether you are allowed to use public chat or not c: -

That would stop all non-English in game chat for sure but some of those people might be English speakers, so what then?
And I don't think Z8 will do that, because Z8 are and have been enticing non-English speaking people to play hence a foreign language sign up page and they will naturally talk non-English in game .
Speaking foreign languages is a real problem though esp in UK servers with Arabic, I have no idea what they are saying at all and for all I know they could be talking about me. -
I really don't know why you would discriminate people like that. They don't want to learn English, fine by me. As long as they know how to play and understand radio messages, I have nothing against them.
When I join a room, I'm not exactly looking to have a discussion with every player there. If you don't like it, just ignore the chat? -
-
What I'm for is a system that translates instaneously all things typed into a language that is varied based off what the user wishes to read in. Anything else would be discriminant in some way, shape, or form.
Impossible? Yes! Awesome? Totally.
It's not discrimination.
If for instance I ran a shop in England and someone came in talking Arabic then it's not my problem or even discrimination when I wave my hands in a manner that suggests "sorry, no I don't understand". This is supposed to be a game for English language countries so they should make an effort to speak English for communications sake.
If I was to play a PT game them the onus would be on me to learn PT or not to talk in game.
The problem comes not when one or two are not English speaking but when the game is dominated by them, for instance in the UK servers you will often see a lot of Arabic/Turkish gibberish and your name somewhere in there and then your see "F11" or "you was kicked by kick vote" etc -
