Dear Crossfire. The game I love.
I have submitted countless tickets....I have reported so many people....I have done EVERYTHING I can to get rid of hackers. And yet, they are still here. You might say, "Oh, well, there are always more." No, that is not the case. Is it considered failure when I report the same person 4 different times, and he still is an "honorable soldier"? Is it failure when I get banned for "speedhacking" when I want to tear the intestines out of all hackers and hang them by them? I don't think you understand how miserable the game is for me and all the other legit players.
That is why I advocate the following 4-part plan.
1: Allow people with good "honor" (submitted lots of positive tickets that resulted in legitimate bans of hackers) to be volunteers to staff the reports. Personally, I would GLADLY do this for NO REWARD. I would not ask for ANYTHING. To ensure that these people did their job well, there would be a policy of 3 people agreeing to a replay before banning the hacking offender.
2. Allow VERY honorable players (Lieutenants above, positive tickets, and no substantiated abuse) to be "half-mods". What they can do is like the kick system, but instead of kicking, it sends an instant report to Z8 games. When 5 of these "mods" report the same person, he is banned. Once again, this is something I would gladly do, without asking for ANY incentive.
3. 1 Day ban and 250 GP loss for those who do not vote against a very obvious (speed hack and 1 hit kill [aimbotting can be hard to detect] ) hacker, and want him to stay in the game. These people are simply advocating hacking, because they are openly allowing hackers to stay.
4. Finally, the votes of those who don't press F11 or F12 "abstain" from voting, and their votes are not counted. Often, people might be in the heat of battle, to busy to notice the hack kick, or new, or don't speak English and don't know what is going on. In order to get rid of hackers, counting just those who vote to kick a person would allow for a legit voting process. Just think of it this way. Americans who don't vote don't have their opinions taken - so why should abstainers in CF? It makes logical sense.
Sorry If I am offending any GM's, MODS, or any other players. I am a honest player who just wants the best for this game I love. I have been playing for over 2 years now, and it's sad to see the game constantly degrading. I really like crossfire, and I want it to stay the great game I was introduced to 2 years ago. I hope a MOD or GM sees this.

This has been discussed before, and when it comes down to it. GM's are really the only ones that can issue bans, so making people go through the reports only to have them sent to them next to review is a waste.

3. No. I play a game to play the game, not to vote kick people. You could sabotage the other team by vote kicking when the bomb is planted or something like that. Or what if someone went afk for 15 seconds? You'd penalize them for that?
4. It is difficult for me to f11 or f12. I have to press the fn key and F5 or F6. Yes, I know I could change it, but I'm too lazy. That said, if I'm still alive, I rarely take the time to f11 or f12 unless it is a really bad hacker. I agree with Smilegate's decision to make it harder to kick people by letting abstainees' votes go as f12s. It also allows me to never have to press anything 50% of the time a vote comes up simply because I never actually press f12. It is very convenient. -

I however, have to disagree with 3.
If im playing in a game..and someone on my team is accused of hack and im on the other side of the map. How am i supposed to know if he's hacking or not? For one, i don't like kicking legit players just because they're good. So i press F12..and i get myself banned for a day and i lose 250 GP? That would just be unjust.
I do agree with every other point you have though. GMs should select pre-mods who play regularly and have the honorable ribbon for as long as they played (1 year or more). -

logic can not be applied to the argument that a non vote is a f12 vote... you can try, but you will fail.... In any other democratic system if you choose not to vote you simply don't count... why would it be different here?
i ALWAYS find time to vote ingame. even if it is a f12 vote (even tho i know it will auto f12)...
even if you have to hit 2 keys to f11/f12 because of what ever reason you have. it still only takes 2 sec tops to do it. no excuse that you are lazy.....
those that dont vote "the majority" don't for these reasons..
1. advocating hackers by not acting to get rid of them. (they want the win)
2. ignorant to obvious hackers.
3. ignorant of what the vote system even is.
4. to "lazy" to hit a button.

I agree at how unmaintained this game has been becoming however everything you just mentioned will not happen.
1. There is no way for the server to detect and record who voted and who didnt and who keeps the hackers in the game. We can record it but since it's not .CFR it most likely will not be trusted and .CFR replays don't show the text.
2. Farmers can easily have a high rank and since they're only farming and it's not against the rules, they would still have their honorable soldier which if they do become a half-mod, they can form up and ban anyone and everyone they think, keyword being "THINK" is hacking. High ranking doesn't mean anything anymore.
3. Not everyone is as serious about this game as you are. I thought it was possible to keep the hackers out completely but I see that it's just all lies and there will always be hackers in this game unless X-Trap makes daily, repeat, daily and effective patches to CF. I find it a little pathetic that a kid sitting in a basement can crack this game quicker than a business can release a patch. -

I agree with the vote-kick as well. Tired of the foreigners hiding behind the fact that they can't speak english.. Just because they can't doesn't mean they can't see an obvious hacker.
The only thing about this is that yet-again we'll need proof. Hackers usually don't get auto-banned right after the match so the vote kicks and the text have to be recorded with the hackusation and those that should get penalized for not voting will NOT get penalized until the hacker is actually banned which would yet again, take months.
And that's IF we could legitly record the vote kicks and the text with the .CFR replay.
