Crossfire Stuttering

So, I recently bought and correctly installed a new graphics card, an ASUS GTX460 TOP.
I have also recently installed a new keyboard. But I doubt either of these 2 are part of the problem. Just saying to make sure.

Whenever I start up Crossfire everything works fine, I get to the login screen.
Now, whenever I press ''Ok'' to actually log in it starts stuttering, my mouse moves once every 5 seconds, and I can't enter any servers.
Does anyone else have this problem? Or am I a loner? If you can help me, I'd appreciate it, thanks.

  • Sounds like an issue with some settings on the card.

100% sure all drivers are up to date?

100% sure. I forgot to mention; Crossfire worked fine with this card the first 2 days.

Did you change any settings on the card or on your monitor?

Also have you checked to make sure your RAM is in good working order?
  • Random long shot. Have you made any changes to your AV? Perhaps its running scans in the background and taking up memory?
  • Also check if something is running that should not be, you can the processes tab in task manager to do this, once my computer was running a process called pmb.exe, it is program caled Pando Media Booster and is used by some distributors to download their game, but left running it will have a very negative effect on you network bandwidth, so can peer to peer type programs like Limewire, so I try to make sure the startup is not set to start when the OS does and program processes are stopped when the program is closed.
  • To all of your replies, no I have not changed settings in the card, my rom is working properly, I did not make any other changes in my anti-virus, it's not lag, it just stutters and works really slow. Thanks for the replies though, it's really confusing, I've never had any issues.

  • It has nothing to do with actual lag.. my game is just STUTTERING, NO PING ISSUES.
  • new card?....fine for 2 days?.....take it back and get a replacement!.
  • Same here, no ping issue but the game stutters and fps drops until it freezes, then it unfreezes and I'm respawned because I got killed while the game was having a seizure. It usually happens about 15 minutes after I start playing, it happens for about 5 minutes in duration, then after that it's smooth sailing for the rest of the time I'm playing.

You can get ingame, I can't. You obviously don't read >.>

I said I can't get past the channel/server/world selection screen. Because it freezes then unfreezes every 5 seconds.
  • Bump again.. God there's no one here who can help? Man this ''support'' is awful, there are NO mods/GM's or WHATEVER to help in here. o.O

EDIT: I have just found out that I can play with other accounts. I created a new account and I am able to log in just fine, does anyone else have ever experienced such issues? Is there a way to fix this?

    Please help me.
  • This is by far the worst ''support'' forum I've ever seen. Jesus, Crossfire moderators/Admins don't do **** to keep their players ingame, and why should they? They got enough paying players! Such ****ty moderators/admins here, my god.

The game does not work with other accounts, I just got lucky.
    F*cking help me already Moderators/Admins.
