IP Banning NOW!!!
Yes, we need IP banning right now! Oh so wat if the account is banned? The ban doesn't last forever and another account can be made in lets say 10 minutes or less? Alright? Hackers tend to be the same people, lets see them hack our game if they can't even log into Crossfire with anything! Good call Z8games, ban for like 1 hour and take away one ribbon...yeah that will keep hackers away!

IP bans won't work.
Takes about ten minutes max to change your IP...all you have to do is to release your IP and turn off your router...and if that doesn't work, you can mess with the Mac address...
No--what NEEDS To be done --which is what I've claimed since 2007, is that free email account registration needs to be blocked, and only paid email accounts can be automatically created, while free accounts are flagged and must be verified manually.
This will stop 95% of all the hackers out there. That's already been proven. Just look at the hacking populations of games that do NOT allow hotmail, yahoo, gmail or aol or yopmail. Much, much lower.
It's really simple. But they won't do it because it will lower their incomes, since hackers won't be able to charge ZP anymore... -
I don't think hackers are buying that much of zp.
The reason why they can't IP ban is actually because IP-ban would discriminate certain people. There are internet connections which can change IP and there are those who can't.
So they would ban only a part of the hackers whereas the others can just reconnect to internet and continu playing.
By blocking free e-mail registration alot of people (like me) wouldn't have the chance to create an account. Not everybody's got a paid e-mailadress. This might stop alot of hackers, but alot of innocent people too... -

Do what i do, when a hackers shows up in my game. i save the video and reported and then i take my modem and throw it out the window so i can get a new ip address
or you can use this program that i not going to say, but lets say that it blocks your ip address and make it look like you live in a different country. so ip address willnt be blocked my CF. -
im with u but, new proposal how bout permanently banning people? That will stop high rank people from hacking and yes i have seen high rank hackers with nothing to fear, for they know that they probably wont get permanently banned.

well i agreed with it a little.... well here's a problem. in most thirworld countries there are somehting call internet cafe. like in canada we have Starbucks where u can get free wi fi. so if u get bann from there, others migh tnot be able to play. also the best way is to locate where they live form ip and bann any ip coming from that house. or simply makes this game strictly for usa and canada

dude, your looking way to far into it, it a joke. yes the hacker would throw is own modem. the whole thing is that this thread is old news. CF been doing IP bans for sometime now. -
We already do ip bans, and banning free mails wouldn't lower our income, it would kill us.
Dot, I didn't say BAN the emails completely--, I mean block the AUTOMATIC registration of free emails.
That way anyone who uses one has to be manually accepted. And only emails provided by internet providers would be automatic. Then you can determine if they are hackers trying to join. Yeah it takes work, but since when is being successful a cakewalk? No pain, no gain.
You can't have your cake and eat it too...that's something my mom taught me when I was little... -
You're talking about manually reviewing every signup when the user is using hotmail/gmail/whatever. What would we review against? To manually check for potential previous bans would be absolutely ridiculous, especially considering bans are usually on an account-basis, with no traceable info.
Not to mention ISPs offering emails is a pretty old concept, my ISP doesn't and its the third largest in the country, so I use free email services.
This would mean I'd have to wait at least a month (yeah, we're talking that many users registering) to play because my ISP doesn't give out emails?
Doesn't sound very reasonable or efficient.
Who waits a month to buy a pack of milk? This century is all about instant access. -
f**king autoaim everywhere. f**k Z8. isnt doing anything of this. it is been f**king two weeks to make some action.
I don't want to make you anymore more "mad", but Z8 can only ban those that have been sent in through the support system, and even then, there must be quite a few hackers on there that they can't get around to them all at once. -

How does the Korea SSN system work? They manage to keep out almost all the repeat offenders (and offenders in general), and their F2P systems still make enough of a profit...
But we can't use such a system here...
But what is a good alternative? It seems like "if man made it, man will break it," so how do we keep most of the cheaters at bay?
It seems there's no way to stop them from bypassing xtrap eventually... -

Strictly to Canada, US, and certain parts of EURO only. I know a new FPS game out there with more than 6 localized version of their game. They even blocked out numerous countries from playing the NA version of their game, including South America.
That is something Z8 should learn from them. WE NEED TO BLOCK OUT ALL LAGGY PLAYERS that are not from North America or Europe!!
I never understand why Z8 never tells us why they haven't made the NA/EURO version of CF strictly to NA and EURO only. Shortage of money? Someone please answer.
If only the Fallen God was here to help us out... (lol, The World God Only Knows reference :P)
