Crosfire.exe = TR/crypt.xpack.gen
Hello everybody.
Ive got a little roblem here.
I really wanna play this game but when i open it and start download patch .
My antivirus - Avira anti vir
Says its a virus or an unwanted program.
I saw threads where people asked if there are viruses and everyone replied no..
but even my dad tells me to trust avira and not other people.
Yesterday i made a scan with my avira and i saw the same like 30 times in many different folders all over my computer.
So i dont trust this i think its a virus please dont just close the topic and say its not explain to me why it places itself in different folders and why avira says its a virus .
Ill download new antivir and scan with it but still i think its not something i can trust...

Any anti-virus program can detect what it thinks is a virus when in fact it is a perfectly safe file. Avira especially, has had this issue with crossfire files in the past and there have been many posts here regarding the problem Avira can cause. Updating Avira sometimes resolved the problem in that it no longer detected false viruses.
Best advice I can think of is what you are going to do. Remove Avira completely, try another anti-virus program, like NOD or Kaspersky, makes sure it's updated fully, install a crossfire and give it a scan again.
Of course, if you don't want to trust that crossfire is safe to run, then you will not be able to play. I and many thousands of others has never had problems with it.
Crossfire should install in the Program Files folder under z8games and also puts personal game files for screenshots and replays in the documents folder.
