Quick question about signatures.

Signature Permissions Allow BB Code No
Allow HTML No
Allow Smilies Yes
Can Upload Images for Signature No
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No

Is that set somewhere in my options or is the default for this forum? I saw the MODs have pictures in their signatures, so why aren't regular users allowed too?

I tried using the link

and it didnt work so i saw this stuff is disabled. Any particular reason?

sigs are disablled because people will post student crap on theirs (some not all, only 98.9%)

Thats the point in making a Requirement..

Maybe adding thanks buttons. Or karma.

Or making for you to have to become an Earl. Simple ways of making requirements. >.>

Difference between making a system and making a system that won't be overly abused.

Thanks/Karma system; create alts to farm it to gain enough rep to gain the use of signatures.

Of course, so we can let trollers do so without a problem right? All they have to do is re-create an alt and they are back in business with their abusive signature all over again.

Personally I don't mind some fake sig's like MissWolf's and Lolli's, those are actually allowed to a degree. At least there we can still do some crowd control.

well at the moment they not allowed to have signatures,But I read that they planing it to implement it for mature formers (Im assuming post count).When they update the forms.

If it is implemented it will NOT be for post count. It would be for good reputation, and maturity. If they're going to promote something, they'll want to make the goals of the people wanting them as such that it would improve the community, not turn the site ramped with more spammers.

I know a few site that have a system where you have to be repped enough times first to hit a level before you can start repping other people. Higher ups like Mods and what not automatically start with the ability to rep.

I think it's pretty fair the way it's now.
If we didn't had the system we have now we would've had to scroll down a lot and that's not something you want to do and randy's would really abuse it.

But from what Saidin said only the most mature veteran forumers will be able to put a picture in their sigs. Personally I think Hi, Smily, RunnyRabbit will be the ones that will be able to put a image in their sigs.

Starting with a couple people is better than dozens of them.

Quick question about signatures.
