friend of mine is not 100% deaf. if he plays games he sometimes turns the volume up to 100% using an amplifier.
his neighbors called the police twice (not joking), which is why he usually plays without sound. -

I know many peoples who play CF with no Sound, all about the game sense =D

and your friend heard the police knocking? otherwise if he wasn't alone then the people who were at the house would have lowered the sound themselves -
ive seen him hear the bomb being picked up and planted, if he is deaf he isnt 100%. probably only half deaf and plays it off as more.
like a year back i remember i was pugging with him. i said something on vent and he responded. he has a hearing aid and doubt he's 100% deaf but definitely doesn't hear too well
