Game News
This is a fraction of an edition of Urban Warfare. So we'll be keeping this one brief.
We're almost in to spring. But the snow doesn't want to stop, CF doesn't care though. A spring patch has been released! Is everyone enjoying those Pink Dual Uzi's?!
We will have some fun stuff coming up in the game over the course of the next couple of weeks. This is going to start with the release of Rival Fractions (ahem, Factions) very soon.
The new format for Rival Factions will be a straight story, one for each side. A monthly mission and leaderboards and prizes. Each monthly mission will feature the top players from both sides receiving a small prize, and then the top players from the winning side receiving a more significant prize. This may sound familiar, however we are going to be doing away with the Briefing and Debriefing aspect of RF. Instead we'll be focusing on a more complete episode story that sets up the scenario for the mission and could lead in to the next story (depending on how much of a cliff hanger is written).
The new Rival Factions will also be in seasons. With the start of each season opening up recruitment to each side. That means that yes, you will be able to switch sides before Mission 1 of Season 2 starts! The Rosters for Rival Factions will be frozen by APRIL 10th. So you will have to pick a side before then. Anyone choosing a side after will not be allowed to change again until the start of Season 3.
Mission 1 will be an introductory story about a new Hero joining with Roid on the hunt for Ghost.
We will be opening up the writing contest once the new format has been viewed for a few days. The Writing contest will be for a Mission in May or June (depending on the entries we get, quality quantity etc) and there will be prizes awarded! For those looking to get a head start. The contest will be for 2 stories. One for each side. And you must keep the stories between 500 and 600 words.
So Rival Factions is on the verge of coming back! Who's excited?
Competitive Updates
WOGL Season 3 Registration is now open. Make sure to check out all the wogl news on their website www.wogl.org. And discuss their league and ask questions in our own community forum section for wogl here.
There's a lot stirring in the competitive community. With the game update and FPS increase, and now there's a lot of leagues and places to play coming in. NESL, ESL, and may more. So keep your eyes open for some great summer competitive playing in Cross Fire.
Hand Gun Week
Next week will mark another theme week in Cross Fire. We will be honoring, featuring and reloading on our favorite secondary weapons all week long.
The week will run from April 4th - 10th and feature many in game events, prizes, sales, giveaways and even a ribbon to be won! More details on this will be posted very soon so keep your eyes to the website for this great week to come!
Apologies to all for not getting the time to write an issue from PAX. We had a blast and it was a busy few days! Urban Warfare will return during Handgun week for another special edition commemorating of all things; Sidearms!

Dam. RF is awesome but the handgun mission between the 4th and the 10th sucks because I'll miss the ribbon and holidays are like the week after. FML

EDIT: 9-10 are weekend days. I'll be able to play. Saidin I beg you to put the ribbon during the weekend otherwise It will be my first ribbon miss and that would make me cry

Wow, this is probably the best news I've heard lately pertaining to Rival Factions. I remember being the first person on Black List with Aero and a few others, and then it got reset and I wasn't the first anymore

Well there may not be much we can do about that one.
In order to keep people from freaking out we haven't actually "wiped" the rosters. While it would be very cool to say you were the first to join. In the end at the moment, it doesn't make too much of a difference.
So this just gives people a chance to shift around while we reboot the story for season 2! -
