Sounds are what makes the game more realistic... so why are there extra sounds?

  • It's not an enormous change, but why not making this an option? Adds to the modularity of the game (wich is pretty low for now).

Something so little shouldn't be a priority over more major things. Especially something so dumb as this. We had a patch for some minor thing that ended up turning flashbangs into room-crashing bombs.
Yes, we really don't need to break the game over something so minor, that bugs a whole 3 players.

We dont "need" to, but we can. That option is there, so why not take advantage of it. Im pretty sure it wont be a HUGE problem. All your doing is transcribing a file.

Im aware of the flashbang deal, but that has nothing to do with this. Please, dont compare apples to oranges. This manipulation will probably have little work involved whereas the flashbange probably took a whole team to do.
  • Games aren't even close to real-life, not even COD. Try walking through a city/area in which you've never been before. You have no idea what to expect as you round a corner since you're unfamiliar with the area. You also have no HUD, and you may not even be able to consult the rest of your unit. Games are meant to be games. None of them resemble real-life at all.
As for your idea, I don't care if it's implemented or not. It's not going to change much.

    ^^

This is why camping isn't noobish. It's rule #1. Always check your surroundings no matter how familiar or unfamiliar you are to them.

I can't help being reminded by the following picture after reading what you said.

It's still annoying to get killed by campers even though I camp all the time. :D
  • That doesnt necessarily mean that we shouldnt have the option to take it out or not. Its the little things that make the quality of the game amazing, So Im going to disagree with "we don't need to break the game again over something so small".

Thank you for the feedback RawrJafrikan.

I agree SpellCaste, it should be an option.

And G2Wolf, Black Ops did not make highest selling game in history because of "good reviews". It sold simply because people enjoy the game itself. That is why there are millions of people playing it 24/7 across the entire world.

And this is not a dumb suggestion, just a small one. As far as it taking up time and resources, it would take less than half an hour to copy the sound from the rez, turn it into a sound file, and reassociate it in the programming.

This is obviously not going to be a priority, but it is still an easy to accomplish suggestion for a future patch.

And yet, everyone I know that's bought it on PC hates it, and quite a few people have complained to the BBB about how poor quality CoD:BO was on PC.
It sure as hell didn't earn the approval of anyone playing on PC, that's for damn sure.
The only people still playing are console idiots, which I'm not surprised they're still playing since consoles hardly get good quality games compared to PC.
  • didnt know sound effects in the game were a big issue to anyone lmao kinda dumb i tink

It isn't a big issue SYKOH, in fact it is not an issue at all, it is a suggestion that would slightly enhance gameplay. It would be cool for players to have the option to turn it off if they want to, just like they can do with the rest of the headshot/multikill sounds.

Here is the video again for what I'm suggesting.

  • Here is the sound I am talking about!!!!!!!!

    Z8Games\CrossFire\rez\Snd2\Nano3\nano3_wraithpoint_up.wav

Yet when I tried to disable it the sound still played in game =/

I think it is a copy and the real file being used is still associated to the REZ files.

C'mon Z8 it would take 10 minutes to implement this suggestion :)
