I personally dislike how a lot of threads are closed. Yes, many of them do deserve to be closed, but some are fine. For example, a forumer once asked this one question and a MOD answered it, the MOD then closed the thread after his one sentence answer. It turns out the forumer either didn't understand the MOD's reply or something else, because he had another question on the same topic. Old thread was closed so he made a new thread about the old thread because he still had a question. Now, he's gonna get infracted because he made a thread about a closed thread?
Basically, some threads don't need to be closed, a forum is a place for discussions, and some of those discussions can still go on. I don't need a "police officer" telling me what I can or cannot discuss, but that does not mean I will discuss things which are simply bad to discuss. How many times have you wanted to post something, only to find that the thread has been closed?
All right MODs, present your arguments then, and try not to flame me please, I'm only stating my opinion, and if my opinion is against the forum rules in any way, then yes, you can close this thread and I will be fine with it. -

If you're referring to the thread closed by mod]dot, then that's pathetic cuz it deserved to be closed =] -

But to insult the MoD is totally different thing. They might have do things different, but those guy are do some service to the community with no or very low payback. Use thread to insult (anyone) should be closed.

I agree with you. Sometimes the behavior of MoD is improper.
Example 1:
hackbuster keeps posting his game result in a new thread, that should be closed and warned, but should not punish without warning. It really makes me feel guilty because hackbuster seems to be punished after we argue with MoD about the "useless thread".
Example 2:
Some hack thread are not totally QQ. And players has the right to post for their joy, pleasure, thankful, sadness, complain. I guess for the hack thread, MoD need only choose the meaningful one (those with opinion, suggestion and no vague language) to answer "we are working on it, thanks for the suggestion" or so. But recently I saw some forumer and MoD says: "Nothing new, everyone knows, learn to live with it", and close it. Maybe the amount the word posted are same, but it creates totally different impression about the MoD, and z8 on the attitude against hacker. Thus even though they work hard, there are still lots of complain and question on how hard they work. -

Believe be, when a player shows his insane SPOP and Hidden sniper skills on monaco, for the 120104104912041092094901204 time, it is anoying. Or when people cry about hacks we already know for like `1309`91498`981`98`19202`102`120` days -

We do... thats the problem. People just either choose to ignore us or not bother to search for an answer because theyre lazy to search
There are many thread OPEN to complain about hackers but in the end its a redundant topic and it should be closed as an answer is elsewhere -
Hacks wont be resolved soon.
It's a F2P game so yeah.
I really don't know what you guys think.
F2P Game = Free to Play = Not so much Income(Don't say ZP buyers) Z8 pays for servers
Web hosting salery and X-Trap and other stuff.
They need to save up profit to be able to make new stuff rent new servers.
Nothing is cheap these days. -

Yes, there are threads to mention don't start multiple threads and there is rule, maybe it is better to add it in your signature about the thread link, to tell the complainer about rule, and maybe tell them kindly to follow the thread. Once you reply a thread, there is instruction to tell them to follow.
And to be more efficient, you might consider to make a leading thread, stick it, like what you did in clan section. It will make them have things to follow without search. It is more likely to be successful.
But you should understand, most complainer think they are the first one, or they are so angry that can not wait to read others' thread. So no matter how many thread you closed, you still have new threads if there are hackers ruined their game, or they are unfairly kicked in the game. It is really like "hackers in the game". You banned one, another comes.
I have argued with Saiden about the impression z8 made in the forum. Remember how many of your guys had expressed that "it is x-trap's work to stop hacker", that is a problematic statement, because 1. you were working on it too; 2. even what you can do is limited, you can not say it that way. And from lots of posts I have seen, there are questioning about the efficiency and hardness of the work, and some complain z8 don't care about hackers. So it proves my saying about the impression is not my imagination. Another observation, I have some complain post which in fact I had made several serious suggestions. In one of them, I used an example to show how kids are misunderstanding the hacking and glitching rules -- 3 member in Finest says Z8 WOULD NOT BAN THEM FOR GLITCHING, and Z8 WOULD NOT CARE ABOUT REPORTS. The thread got closed as usual, with no one cares about what the point I want to make. And I know that I am not the only one whose similar thread got closed. And I have questioned Saiden, if you guys works hard, but still makes many people to complain about this in forum, does that mean the strategy need to be changed? Maybe you can answer that to me.
IT IS NEVER A GOOD IDEA TO FORBID PEOPLE TO COMPLAIN, THE BEST WAY IS TO STOP THE REASON THEY COMPLAIN.
You guys are working on it, but you also realize it is hard to stop. I agree with this point, when you want to stop it only technically. But I believe if you can direct the community to take part in the campaign against hackers, it would be more effective. Report, and vote kick should both be effective if being used properly, and only z8 has the authority to direct the community to use it properly. Normal player can only suggest in forum, or type some slogan that no one care in the game.
Sorry for the text wall here: I just want to answer you signature:
[GM]Saidin - "Search my Name plus the word Hackers. You'll see 149 posts." <-- DO IT BEFORE MAKING A THREAD!
This is from the thread we argue with MoD and GM -
We deal with hackers. More than you think. Obviously don't expect your ticket to be reviewed in 5 minutes.
And yes my swedish dot is always funny, but since I'm his wannabe, I'm gonna leave something I like/funny here:

Sometimes if you post on one of those open threads it will be necroposting and ppl can be infracted, and dont tell me storys like: " That never happened".
Cuz i know it did, ofc i cant proove it but it happened.
But overall i like your job 55%, you can be BAD when you want too. Also 80% of your(all the MODs not just you giggle) posts in our threads (that are regular posts, not infractions) only are posted cuz someone that you like/famous forumers started it/ posted in it.
I'm just giving my opinion, not ofendingIScope2kiLL wrote: »love these kinds of threads its like all out war of posting lol

First it is not only one person's think. Next I have not talked about the ticket problem.
Now I start it.
You need to tell the community which kind of replay can be used by your guys to identify a hacker. If the report is created during review, then everyone just need to review it before report.
it takes more time that a correct report, right? And if you don't do anything to let others know, you should be deserved to be busy with wrong reports all day.
And if you don't let the community knows what you have done, you should expect to be asked what you have done.
Even if you can not bring back the ban list, you can have a thread of reports on how many accounts have been banned in the week, by autoban and by reports. -

The MODs aren't as draconian as some might think. They only close/lock threads that are really really useless.
Maybe they should have a stickied uncensored whining/venting/*****ing/raging thread for us. I am speaking for myself but I'm sure others will agree that sometimes it helps to post in one of those QQ threads. It does calm one down after playing with hackers who nobody kicks.iSnipsGuns wrote: »So don't make threads about the same topic over and over again. It's pointless and gets you nowhere. I can say the same thing about the support tickets regarding hackers. I've sent in replays of blatant hackers over the past 2+ months and none of them are banned. It's the same thing over and over again. The support ticket system is pointless and gets me nowhere. -

for your example 2, there are specific threads ALREADY MADE by mods or other forumers where u can post these accomplishments like the "Look what i've won! badge/rank/gun" thread idk the exact name but u get my point. this is y many threads are close. The questions they ask are probably already answered, u just need to use the "search" button. No need to make threads that already exist....thats y they get closed.. -

I have suggested to start such a sticky thread to let others follow.
But once there are hackers, you should expect to have new threads about it. The poster normally think they are the first, or just be in rage that can not waste time to read.
An even more plain example, there is one leading thread -- looking for clan, post it here in clan section. So just read the clan section, except some clan are recruiting, can you find something that should not follow the thread? -

I don't know about you, but I dislike using the Search button because it searches for exact matches. You can search for a thread with one word, and nothing turns up, but there was a thread that discussed what you wanted to discuss, it's just that that thread used a synonym to the word you searched.
It once took me three searches to search for a thread that I made, yes I know, fail on my part, but it really shouldn't be that difficult. -

Profile page > Statistic > Show all threads created by Zeke
At thread: don't look at their actions with the mindset of a regular user, but with that of a mod. Stuff makes a lot more sense then. -

There's still a lot of stuff I don't know about in the User CP, but the layout is kind of confusing for me. :P
Good point, it's like putting yourself in someone else's shoes. -
i'm a funny guy.
Threads locked with oneliners are 99 times out of 100 fully answered.
Once in a while the user doesn't understand it, in which case he can try thinking a little harder or PMing the mod.
The reason behind locking is the fact that if we don't, we're going to have 20 kids pretty much copypasting our reply for no reason at all, to appear helpful. And that really doesn't help anyone, as they usually throw in a few factual errors in an attempt to make their reply 'unique'.
