M16a2 is better. As long as you can control the recoil you will get serious scores with both the m16 and the a2

It's a good gun, but nobody uses it because it's the first gun you get so you'll always think of it as a newbie weapon even in the hands of a captain. Recoil is a bit tough to handle for new players which is why it feels like it's rubbish even though it's not.
