The universe would implode

It would expand. The melted ice wouldnt increase the volume enough to cause it to explode. Not enough pressure would build up.

Well, the ice is just the frozen state of the water that was in the bottle. So once it melted it wouldn't explode or expand because no new water has been added to the bottle. It just changed states - from being in a frozen state to being in a liquid state.

Well when water freezes it expands so it would be the opposite.

Happened to me with a bottle of Guinness when i accidentaly left it in the freezer. It expanded through the stopper into my freezer and did a mess..
When i tried to warmed it, it didnt expand or explode, but it tasted disguisting..

yep, Guinness is the beer.. And i can assure you it didnt explode, it just flew around the stopper, it didnt even push it out..
All it did was a puddle of iced beer around the bottle
