Sniper AMW

I recently bought the AK-47 and the AWM , I liked playing with the AK-47 but I just loved the AWM (though I usually get pwned playing with it :P ) , so if some sniper "pros" here can give me some good tips I would really appreciate it .

Thanks
Oh and does increasing the mouse sensitivity helps ?? I increased it but it did not helped much :3

  • I trained on m700. I always try to shoot in head from it. So when i bought AWM (You typed *AMW*) it was easy to pwn.
P.S Mouse sensivity helps if you are to slow, but if you can't aim it's usseles
  • Keep training, that's it, when you got the skills, you pwn.
Still owning some guys in game even after 6 months inactivity.
  • If you have any extra mouse buttons on your mouse, like near your thumb. I recommend changing it to "previous weapon" for easier quickscopes.

Don't ask people about sensitivity changes, that's like asking a stranger what your own favorite color is. It's all preference.

i got that on my mouse but what should i change in Options?
  • what I realized is a gaming mouse really helps when sniping... its actually not a joke... I just bought the Razer DeathAdder recently and saw a dramatic improvement in my sniping skill... it lets you tune the sensitivity down for very precise movements, but when you move the mouse fast, it understands that you need it to move quickly and "accelerates" so you have the best of both worlds... precise low sensitivity and quick jerks of the mouse for wide movement... but regardless of having a gaming mouse, I believe you need to tune the sensitivity down regardless for sniping... it just helps being precise...

learn to bunny hop and if you can, quickscope... bunny hopping is not incredibly difficult, just takes a little bit of practice to aim while you jump and then time your landing and shoot at that exact moment... just practice, nothing too hard... quickscoping for me is kinda hard, dunno, I get nervous not having a crosshair... but the point of QS is to aim out of scope so you see the whole screen, then scope in and shoot almost at the same time... (except you scope in just a moment before you actually shoot) but that's a very pro move... those are my 3 suggestions:
    1) tune down the sensitivity
    2) learn to bunny hop
    3) learn to quickscope

    practice, practice and practice
  • my steps

    1. Get headsets and listen for sounds

    2. pre-aim the location of the sound and hardscope/flick shot

    3. hardscope, jump shot's, and flick shots ( Most important imo )

    4. quick switch ( press 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 ) ; makes me feel more comfortable with the weapon =]

really though, all you need is good gamesense, good reaction, and a good shot.

as for sensitivity, try using low mouse sensitivity and high scope sensitivity

EDIT : My ign is ?_? if you want me to show you stuff

EDIT EDIT : QS's are very over-rated. really only time they're useful is close range
  • There's not much we can say about improving your skill of pointing, aiming, and clicking. That is for yourself to polish on your own. But there are several sniping guides in this forum, just use the "Search" button around the top of this page. Keep sniping, and training, and you'll get the hang of it.

PS: Bunny Hopping helps a lot (Shh. It tanks shots.). The one where you are jumping while standing. Not the one the Ghosts do.

Mouse acceleration is literally the WORST thing for any FPS.
Creates a whole world of inconsistency. Sure, you can get good at it, but you would be better without it. Also you don't need a gaming mouse for acceleration.

Yeah, go options and change "Previous Weapon" with the side button. It's originally "Q" It should say "Mse, btn 3" Or something like that after you change it.
