Currently got a core2 in there with a stock speed of 3.2 GHz, but thinking of overclocking it to about 3.6/3.7 GHz soon (see no point in a quad core really can barely use these 2 cores). And I have 2x2GB DDR3 1333mhz all on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Wow thats alot of frames taking CF isnt that GPU intensive. Check this out;

Don't have it yet, but I am going to purchase it soon and was just wondering how many frames it would get on CF.
@MaryJaneKB Yeah I realised, because atm my pc my pc doesn't have a GPU and it was getting about 30-60 frames, but in CSS I couldn't even walk because I was getting 1-10 frames. -

Personally if your going to buy one anyways I would go Nvidia before ATI. I always seem to see more compatibility problems with ATI cards then Nvidia. -
@MaryJaneKB I highly doubt there will be any compatability issues, but I do agree that nVidia cards are more commonly used by game developers so generally most games tend to perform better with nVidia but the performance gain is minimal.
@Rorzer Well off the top of my head I remember its a ASUS motherboard and a Corsair 650 watt PSU. Thinking of upgrading the PSU in the near future to maybe get use of SLI/Crossfire though I doubt Ill need that much power.
@to0l Yeah I've noticed that also, the FPS fluctuates in CF a lot maybe because its more CPU/RAM dependant and it cannot control the FPS like a GPU can. It would be nice if they made it more GPU dependant instead because I've seen a few bugs where you die a few seconds late and after you get behind cover. -

Oh I'm not saying any compatibility problems with CF ( even tho i have a Radeon 9250 and CF is the only game I've found that crashes it). I'm just saying over all that I've seen (I fix PCs for friends ALOT) the Nvidias seem to always work better. Also I see you like to OC Nvidias are always better for OCing IMO. -

Hmm, well I cant disagree but ATI or should I say AMD cards tend to be a lot more affordable while offering similar performance as higher price nVida cards. Overclocking well I cant say I agree with you there, it differentiates on every model so I cant side with nVida or AMD there. But with adequate cooling in your system I cant see a problem overclocking any piece of hardware.
And as for your card, its very dated and probably incapable of running most games out on the market right now that's probably the reason for your compatibility issues. -

Well it sounds like you know what your doing
. I know what you mean by Nvidia being more expensive tho. Just my preference that is all
. Even tho like i said I'm running a ATI now. I have an Nvidia sitting here tho , I messed up and got a 8x AGP when my Mobo only supports 4x. Stupid me and stupid Ebay
Ya when when you can't find a job you can't be picky. My main problem is just CF tho. I can run anything else just CF it doesn't like

its funny. everytime i am playing recent games, it reminds me that i actually got a pretty decent rig. 8gb of ram don´t seem to mean much to CF -
That would probably be due to their drivers. Nvidia cards generally have better drivers.
I'm not necessarily an ATI/AMD fan or an Nvidia fan, it's just how it usually works.
Ya I've noticed that to there Drivers always seem to have better options and just run better. -

Haha well I surprise myself sometimes :P
Yes well I cant fully back up either its all down to personal preference if you a little extra fortune then go with nVida.
Well re-list it eBay and put up your current card also and try sc**** together some cash for a new GPU or more importantly a new pc.its funny. everytime i am playing recent games, it reminds me that i actually got a pretty decent rig. 8gb of ram don´t seem to mean much to CF
Yeah, well I guess the game engine used for CF was poorly coded it has many bugs and the game play doesn't feel as smooth as a game like CSS, but CS is slowly fading away so I guess its time to move on. -

I was thinking about doing that but I fix so many PCs that i might as well keep it. I'll use it some day even if it is not for me.
As for the new PC goes I'm waiting till I can find a job then building a new one. I had a build rig but after losing my job ended up selling it. Makes me sad it was a really good PC to

512 mb , nice ! real old school! i had to buy more because of video editing.
i don´t know if its fading away really. i think i ll always enjoy a few rounds of dust, assault and so on. everytime theres a hacking outbreak in cf i return to 1.6 for some time. -

i agree, powercolor cards are good in terms of price-performance. -

Well not at a rapid rate, surely the community is still very large. But I see a downfall in the community compared to previous years. Hopefully they release a new CS something more eye-catching, few tweaks on the engine and updated weapons etc.for all you Radeon lovers out there

Just had a look, seems like a very good BUDGET card if you intend on playing crossfire only.
Doubt it will perform in many newer games out in the market if I'm honest though. But overall it has a very low power consumption so upgrading PSU's wont be necessary and it supports DX11 definitely worth the price!

Yeah that's because CF is CPU/RAM dependant whereas CS is GPU more dependant. And playing with bots makes you FPS lag more than online. -
