  • oh ok i was totally wrong sorry. justified to shoot that damn journalists, i mean its not clearly visible on that small monitorl. lets just do it in one sweep! yay!
  • I havent read whole of this spammed thread, but two things on my mind :)

    1) not inhuman conditions if there are pictures of his cell.. If it was inhuman, there would be no pics and the guy would never appear again :)

    2) doop: you saying there were weapons.. I was watching all that movie few months ago and imho there were no guns.. And even if there were some guns, after that incident you have your screenshots from, they fired few missiles into house with so called terorists.. Maybe they was, maybe they wasnt.. All i know for sure is that on the street in front of the house was going some guy, totaly unrelated to those inside and he died for sure there too.. And that radio talk of soldiers wasnt exactly nice too, imho those stupid jarhead just loved to play with their toys..
  • It was an active combat zone. You don't hang out with armed people in active combat zone. Simple as that.

Try talking to people who come back from combat zones. It's easy to sit at your desk and be an internet version of V for Vendetta. Being from the midwest and relatively unwealthy, I have to many good friends deployed overseas to just sit back as people bash them. Sorry, not everyone is spoiled like you.

And that radio talk of soldiers wasnt exactly nice too

You're a joke, it is war. WAR isn't nice.
  • I can see NO plausible excuse for this video. I can see a lot of reason for uproar!
And I understand both sides of the arguement. I also can see the actual "behind their desk" perpetraters of the "real'" crime.
Famous saying "Divide and Conquer" and we dont even see that we are being placed in arguement against each other to hide the true goal.

Yea, uproar on the forums. Go do something. I mean you're the leader of legendary Charon, you have to be able to organize some type of rally?

All you have done is spam "The Arrivals", and random 1 line chants for revolution.

Find me 1 thing that is so terribly bad/evil/corrupt that we should revolt. 1 thing from wikileaks.

    v3rt3x, duke

    statement still stands

as soon as they manage to torture those few words out of manning, assange acidentally falls down the stairs, and that password is spammed all over the place, you will have your uproar. not (entirely) on the forums.
  • 2) doop: you saying there were weapons.. I was watching all that movie few months ago and imho there were no guns..

I saw no weapons either, I saw 2 possible weapons i.e the cameras however that doesn't excuse the war crimes as I said earlier.

Ridiculous excuse the whole of Iraq is a combat area.

The soldiers sounded like they were having a good time i.e laughing and wanting action.

About the same time you graduate middle school?

I am very easily swayed, I just need evidence.

    Would you rather them crying?

This is no war, this is politics with casualties.. Politics is bullsh*t :)

I dont know how it is in your military, but in my country there are tough physical tests, but very easy mental tests.. My old schoolmate join the army, he passed mental test (close but he did) and hes total psycho, very happy psycho now cause he got a gun..
And am not telling the soldiers have an easy time there, but imho they should have some respect (not ride with humvee over dead bodies) and more brainpower than just to shoot and laugh..

You said "war is not nice", I said it sounded nice for them, IDC what they do as long as it is not war crimes.

The third shows a large group of people being bombed for no apparent reason:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AXN3H3BPQU

Efforts should not be made to punish the whistler blower but to punish those that were directly responsible, those that gave the orders to engage and those that set the policies in place to have lax ROE and those that chose to hide these facts.

Second video, is a terrible thing.

Third video is nothing new, it's happened to many times.

The death of civilians is always a terrible thing. This isn't something new and has gone on since the beginning of warfare.
  • I'm talking about the unadulterated video, not clean up jobs by the military.

that is the unadulterated video, those are frames from the gun cam.

I guess the video that wikileaks editorialized is unadulterated?

usually one should show a tad more respect to ones elders, though i am not expecting it from you. so its all good.

That's nice. I only respect intellectuals and people who are good at video games.
As in this thread: UK Dissident has strong intellectual arguements, you spam google png's and 1 liners.

Unless you are in your late thirties I hardly, would consider yourself my elder.

Regardless they cannot be seen on the video watch it. It's important what the unit saw not what actually happened, as they base decisions off what they do see.

And one thing you have not answered away yet are these facts:

I have saw 3 videos the one you mention and 2 more, assuming all of these were actually insurgents when they are not (for arguments sake).

In the one you mention there are a few clear violations:

    1) Shooting a wounded and a clearly unarmed subject.
    2) Shooting the rescuers of the unarmed subject who themselves are unarmed.
    3) Firing on a location when it is known a civilian will get injured or killed and when the attack could of waited until the civilian had left the immediate area (later in the video).

The second video shows a surrendering man being blatantly killed:

Don't get me wrong, there is alot going on that I disagree strongly with. In this particular case, I can see the pilots actions as reasonable.

In no way am I saying anything to take away from the tragedy. I am just saying in the framework of the event, it was reasonable.

    2) They did not know the people in the van were children and unarmed.
    3) They didn't consider them civilians as they were aiding the "insurgents".

They saw weapons. They opened fire.

Sorry to interupt your little fight, but you can see this as reasonable, but only based on few screenshots with guns.. I am looking on your pictures and all i see is group of people standing, shady and dont see guns at all.. Yeah, on one of that pics there is something like gun laying on the ground, but that is for me the ONLY ONE CLEAR picture and its taken after the people ARE KILLED.. What more, your pictures arent moving as videos does, i really cant understand how someone could be possibly sure guns are involved in the very beginning..

I am not aruging my stance on if those are or aren't guns/rpg. It is not my job to decide if those are or aren't guns. I am assuming that is an AKM and that is a RPG in the video.

If they are weapons, I consider the action by the pilots reasonable.

impresses me everytime how fast the pros can click a mousebutton. thats why i am a big fan of yours.

to my disadvantage, english is not my mother tongue, so i am not able to participate the way you natives do. so YES i am a foreigner, who did not shave for some days so i might look like a terrorist. good i am not in a combat zone, wouldn´t stand a chance against your reflexes.

Oh yea, I am big bad american. I love to kill innocent civilians.

Grow up, I've probably done 5x as much community service as you.

    Go **** off

I am one of the most religious and culturally tolerant american's you will ever meet. However, you are one person I hope to never meet.

I agree with you there. Blaming soldiers carelessly is stupid. They are working to protect our ideals and are human as well. Everyone makes mistakes unfortunately and while it definitely is a sad case, they can't be judged for what they did.

I think we need to look at the bigger picture... leaks like these, however right or wrong you think they are, get people talking about these horrible situations. By being aware, we can push for changes to our laws and methods. Sure, easier said than done, but even marathoners move forward one step at a time.

Lol finally i can agree on something with you..
But i watched the same video as helicopter staff did and truly, i couldnt see any rpg.. If so, i would agree with the first strike (only first one!), because everyone who saw Black Hawk Down knows RPG can do pretty ugly mess.. Pitty is i couldnt see anything like that, so i still incline to my stupid jarhead theory..

I am perfectly fine with leaks. I do not approve of how manning did it, but that is another argument in itself.

I think the government should be more transparent, however I do not want or wish for any type of fully transparent government.

i am sure you are neither a big bad american, nor would you ever enjoy to kill people.
you are passionate and that is good if you can control it.

that last line is kind of ironic i think, do you agree :)
    anyways, good day!
