Tankers in gm ._.
I've been playing crossfire for 3-4 months and my favourite mode is gm, but why is it so hard to kill running ghosts? I'm sick of ghosts who cant bhop but still own cause of their low ping. In other modes if u shoot someone and see blood they definitely lose hp (most likely >_>) but in gm sometimes half of my clip hit the ghost ( blood on the screen ) but they dont even lose 1 hp :O

that's lag (difference of pings)
your client (crossfire installed in your computer) send the data on the shoot to the server. also, your enemy client do the same. but because there is a big difference in pings (your and your enemy), the server accept first the data of client with lower ping and take measures accordingly. so the fact that you see blood is important ONLY for your client, because the server can choose to ignore it.
take another example: you and your opponent fire in the same time. same weapon. you have high ping, he is low ping. retain: you both shoot the same time. but the server receive first his data and may decide to kill you, even if you and your opponent fired at the same time.
and i give another example: this happened to me personally, in uk1 server, where i have ~250 ping (since last 2-3 updates). i was playing a GM. i was defusing. with 250 ping. i got defusing sound, and i saw the message of winning round. immediatelly after, i got killed by a ghost with a lower ping. well... belive me or not, game continued, and we lost that round. and still, my game client made for me the winning sound and the message
still, the server received my kill, because the ghost was really low ping (like ~30) -

I have low ping and the registration rate of my bullets is totally crap. Never seen something like that in any game. Yesterday I was playing TD I threw a grenade, I killed one with my riffle, I died, I respawned and at the door exit, while I was preparing to throw another grenade a dude died from my previous grenade. He had 4,000 ping. So, if I had shot him, he would have never died because my bullets would have never counted. -

i am romanian.
it seems that, for crossfire, canada is nearer to me (in canada servers i have ~130 ping) than uk's (250 ping).
i have to mention that, when uk server was launched, my ping was there like ~65-70. but since last 2-3 updates, my ping has gone crazy: ~250. and is hard to get kills with that ping. belive me.That's not what happens on this game.

well... yesterday was update day. many crossfire players tried to update game client and servers tend to be busy in this kind of days. but it will be ok in 1-2 days.
and.. let's extend my example: you have low ping, he is high (4000) ping. your game client see the opponent, therefore you see the opponent, you shoot. BUT... the server get OTHER DATA FROM HIM: he may be NOT in the position you think he is, even you see him and shoot him and make him bleed. but... the server know that, according to his data, he is NOT in the position you shoot. so you waste bullets and no damage the opponent, because HE IS NOT WHERE YOU SEE HIM! with 4000 ping, he may be anywhere on the map
. in this case, your game client show you the blood, but... the server don't take it in the consideration! -
The 4 UK servers are in different parts of the UK. Try all of them and see what your ping is on each one.i am romanian.

Saw that they introduced Fiber in their internet services, you probably have ADSL, try an upgrade if they have an offer in your city or change to RDS. If I remember right RDS has only fiber. ADSL is crap in my opinion. The sooner this crap will dissapear the better.

The game has bad bullet registration in addition to any lag effects from ping.
I have had High and Low ping tank shots alike.
This is even worse when opponent is in air. reg is almost 1 out of 4 bullets register.
Easy fix.
Shoot more.
The bullet reg isnt as bad as everyone has come to believe. It is simply the difference in pings. When I play Rorzer, I reg perfectly unless either of our pings spike -
But I don't understand why me and not the opponents, who usually have worse ping than mine. It's annoying when I hit the target 5-6 times and he doesn't die. Once, I threw a grenade on a stationary target, the grenade has exploded exactly on him (I saw the replay of that game twice) and I shot him 2 times and he still killed me. Sometimes I can swear this is a hack.

Im not convinced it's as simple as the difference between pings. I have experienced serious tanking when opponents in air especially from high jump, not just hop jump which is bad reg enough. this is from playwers of all pings higher, close to same and lower as well. Sometimes it happens more from those who are closer to my ping rather than further.
Maybe many factors make up the bad reg anomoly. -

I have experienced serious tanking when opponents in air especially from high jump, not just hop jump which is bad reg enough. this is from playwers of all pings higher, close to same and lower as well. Sometimes it happens more from those who are closer to my ping rather than further.
Maybe many factors make up the bad reg anomoly.
I said it isnt as bad. There is a problem with the bullet reg, but it isnt game breaking as people are led to believe
Many factors do... namely, the latency.
You can have 1 ping and still reg poorly on someone with 200 -

Yeah, but thats you both with similar pings, we talking about 80% of the CA servers with 180+ Ping and rest with our 50 and lower ping...
So we stuck with a bunch of laggers in our NA servers that tank and reg more than us. -

the only problem i see is the difference betwen player's ping. and i think in GM, this problems amplifies, because ghosts are almost invisible and hard to see... therefore you can't be sure you REALLY hitted your target, if this is a ghost...
fortunatelly, good players use headphones and take care of the environement (for example, water) and this simplify somehow the proces of detecting ghosts. -

How come in other games bullets reg perfectly even when ping differency's are 1 - 80.
ofc while opponent is midair shot on him will be noreg whit 75% chance and im quite sure it has nothing to do whit ping. Ofc i might be wrong, I just dont see any reason why jumpping would affect for ping. -
Well, tankers have always been a problem for Cross Fire. The coding isn't the greatest, and obviously can be improved on, but we get what we get. You can't expect a patch that fixes everything. I'm actually pretty grateful for this one's.
The reg on other games that aren't as experienced [we aren't even 2 years old in Open Beta yet] is obviously worse than ours.
