Psudeo-moralities? You saying people don't have such mentalities ever? It doesn't matter what enviornment a person is in, or what age group they are, especially if they are supposed to be within the target age group, maturity is indeed expected. I wouldn't expect McDonald's employees to act like childish snobs because they serve happy meals and toys. God knows how many teens are employed in such areas.
Not saying its only teenagers too, bet there's a good number of them who are older. But hey, guess what? Not everyone is like that, how is CF China, probably consisting of about 20x or more in terms of teenage players and overall population can be alot more mature, hm? That is also how I can expect such here as well, because its possible there, and alot more spread out as well. You can ask just about anyone, in terms of player community, it generally is low grade compared to other games, even compared to other versions. Care to explain?
Your argument is flawed. First, you're naive to expect the LEVEL of maturity of which you ask in a community MOSTLY comprised of teenagers. Of course, EMPLOYEES can't like snobs, because they will get FIRED. Players have no manager or boss they must answer to.
Second, you're comparing two different countries and in doing so, two completely different cultures. Gaming is as much part of China as basketball is in the US. The level of seriousness does not even deserve a comparison.
Third, almost all FREE TO PLAY fps games I have played have the same community. You can't contrast them with communities that surround games such as Counter-Strike, which is mostly comprised of veterans who have stayed with the game due their love of and skill within the game.
Think harder. -

They have the ToA and ToS to abide by, GMs and Moderators are their boss. They just take advantage of the lack of control in their environment to abuse such. Like any bad employee without management around. Its in the workplace as well. The same goes for school and other environments.
Despite all that, who's fault is it when people think about 'culture'? Is it our culture to disrespect because that's what we have been taught for centuries? A dog eat dog mindset? Currently is seems our culture is the one that seems the trash heap in that case. And there's plenty of gamers in the US. Just because the population of China is bigger doesn't make the ratio any less. What stops people from taking the same attitude over here to be calm collective and mature? Besides their ignorance.
I don't even know how you even came to think I was comparing f2p games with pay games, because I wasn't, so that point was completely pointless. But tons of MMO's that are f2p seem to have a better community overall. Don't know how many you've played but I also have a strong contrast of such games. Hell, even Runescape has a better community. -

China has a lot better gamer community, and they are absolutely serious.
For example, there's internet militia camps for people that PLAY TOO MUCH. and the borderline for that? 11+ hours a day, all day.
Now, you might say "hahaha, noob plays too much" but you're wrong. it's only stops 11+ hours because any less would include almost 50% of all gaming teenagers.
Which is why we have on some chinese games that "if you play for more than 2 hours", you will not win any points but you sure lose a LOT if you lose.
US and UK does not have this serious mindset because US parents don't know the friggin meaning of games. We have 11 year olds on an 18+ C_o_D_7 games and 9 yr olds that play things like GT_A and such. Then we have tournaments where our BEST teams get thrashed by other teams. easily. Because the other teams (china) have teenagers that do nothing BUT revise, study, play, sleep and eat.
So do not EVEN TRY to compare. the US community cannot be mature, unless you send proof of your age via ID or passport, making people unable to play until 16-17, and knowing US, you'll scream "FREEDOM OF SPEECH BLAH BLAH BLAH". And you'll probably get your brother to register you anyway.
SO to answer your question, what STOPS us is the immature little brats that scream and think that they are the best, while being spoilt silly by parents that aren't comparable to ones in china, those that make living in a basement a choice, not a punishment. You think with the US community, that we can all be mature and grown up? In fact, from what i have seen from the US, the teenagers don't understand ping or fps or Servers dedicated to the UK. because i know A LOT OF americans that play in UK servers, and hackusate me for having such a low ping and being able to kill them.
IT's also because if you're a US teen, you'd rather play some other game rather than CF, and therefore we ended up with the low ones, the ones that are generally bad at everything so they end up here.
And then you have the pros, the people that SEEM like they're playing with hacks. Those that can HS you from far away and listen to your oh so obvious footsteps. Resulting in almost a wall hack. But it's organic. And they are likely veterans or those that have good reactions.
Which is why we have threads that think we still F11 hacks. Why people QQ HE HACKS HE HACKS until they kick the person out of spite. Now i have seen teams, that were hackusating me, to change their hackusating on an obvious speeder. he got kicked, and they forgot, and hackusated me until someone swapped teams and voted me out.
And they all had very bad grammar and can't spell my name right.
so if you want to do "something" about it, then just shut up, and see whether your parents can get you an alien ware. then play actual games. Leave CF to those that aren't so lucky.
Or, if you're poor, then bear with it, and don't give 2 fudge sticks about KDR, or even gameplay. we haven't paid for this, remember? it's free. It costs money to patch hacks, you HAVE to hire programmers and HAVE to pay them to fix a FREE game. so they RELY on our ZP. They RELY on getting funds. They are NOT just doing this so that they get more money, they NEED the money to be able to maintain the servers and such. Think about your electricity bill. now imagine a huge computer on 24/7, and almost 100% full of stuff.
they need the money. not want, not just to have, they need it, so they can still give us this game where i can be hackusated and you have a fun time pressing F8
Another thing about your hacker no kick theory. Some people do not WANT to kick. they do not WANT to associate themselves with the QQ-ers. I, for one, have not kicked someone in a public match because they were hacking or even suspicious of hacking. all i do are record their screens when i am dead, and see whether or not they are truly hacking. after making my judgement, i can either;
-kik them
-leave him alone and spam F12 he's so much better than you
because, if i hadn't mentioned this already, so many teenagers think they're awesome, they're 1337, they're top of the world because of American culture. They don't realise that math nerd who is chinese might beat you quickscoping
they don't realise ching chong china man can aim better than them. they just think anyone above them is a hack.
So enjoy our community here, unless you want to move to china or korea.
But you don't want to go to china, as you would be QQ-ing and you would be kicked because of your 0-something score.
Trust me, i've been there. i was born in the UK, but i've been there, and US/UK games are **** noob. -

So you and I can both agree the main problem is ignorance, as it seems the majority of people over here don't know much about the others, especially other countries such as China. As even I personally didn't know alot of Chinese players took the game quite that seriously. Almost as a living. Not many that can take it as such. Though I never denied that it could be such, as its still a form of competition like any game of chess can be.
The age restriction for games is supposed to be enforced but most don't seem to care which is a shame. Most of the time ID is supposed to be given. But as you said, they always like to circumvent that in some fashion. In-game moderation for age should be enforced at times. Its not hard to tell a 9 or 13 yr old is playing MW2 with the high pitched squeak on the mic.
Also, the maturity doesn't just have to extend to the game. They just bring that attitude with such. Yes, the chinese take a game very seriously, but chances are there's probably a few westerners that try as well. But those that do tend to be more mature. Even if they weren't before. Which makes me wonder if even a little tolerance can be given.
Though I suppose you also bring up another good valid point is education. Which tends to be another barrier, as they have much better learning curves and even take learning seriously.
But, I have to disagree that just because there IS other options to play games, that those that can always go for the pay ones. CF has alot of elements alot of other games don't. I find it more fun than MW2. I prefer to learn this game over that one. Its like those that like Runescape over WoW.
Now as for me doing 'something'. Its merely an informational thing. I am simply voicing my opinion as a Canadian. (Yes, not an American.) I do not care about my kdr or the code bugs. I care about the fun that comes with playing a game. Was simply voicing opinions and suggestions to possibly give those people more time to do so, as you aren't playing if you get kicked is all. But some of us DO put money into this game to keep it running, because we want to keep it running as much as they do. I personally don't care how much they do actually profit.
Also, not to be rude, but do you mean F11 and not F8? Unless your referring to macro spamming.
Now, I like you, don't open the kick vote upon getting killed because I rage, I know when a player is better than me. And many should as well. The only time I actually do bring up such a window is to kick those irritating but rare VIP's and such. Otherwise, I do my best to ignore that kick window for others. Thats all I simply wish others to do as well. So simple, no?
I enjoy the community 'here', the forums. As it seems to be a good sensible spot of Crossfire that I wish had more of. Seeming to be where the majority of mature players of our version seem to come to.
I'd rather be kicked because my score is disgraceful, but I'm having fun, than having fun and getting kicked because someone can't take it. Besides, I've played in the CF CN servers and I must say, that even though I suck compared to here. I have fun.
lol and I've seen some of the games they play, the reflexes required must be insane and awesome and fun to play. the only thing i even have to compare to personally is those DDR versions that had such. didn't have a chance. XD
Thank you for teaching me something new. ^..^ -
Perhaps I worded it wrong. Changes to the ToS will have little impact on what you're pursuing because the people who are too immature to acknowledge one of higher skill level are the people who do not read over the ToS.I do my best to abide by the ToS as much as possible.
Do you think racism should be tolerated? I think it shouldn't. No matter how you justify this forum's negativity towards BRs, it's racism. Shouldn't that be punishable?
You can't simply change the ToS and then infract half the community. -
=/
You've made a worthy point in this post, well done!
Anyway, Z8 Games don't give a shi* about the "customer satisfaction" that almost all other companies are so desperately after. As long as we keep buying ZP, they keep making money. As long as they keep making money, why pay some developers the extra money to patch the hack(s) on the same day they come out, why pay to go to court and sue those mother fuc, kers for profiteering off their game? They are obviously oblivious to this but Crossfire is one of the best F2P Military Shooters out there, and it's reputation will be hacked to pieces if they don't do something soon. My suggestion?
I suggest that most the ZP players in the game stop buying ZP and issue a ZP free time, kinda like the tube strikes we have here in London every so often. Unfortunately, this won't happen and CF is soon gonna be in the gutter - overrun by hackers and people that falsely accuse legit players of hack. -

I wish this weren't true.iloveyourfee wrote: »or why not IP ban ppl that hack?
All f2p games are ruled by money, this is nothin' new and it'll never change.
This game especially has the potential, and the community behind it, to make a big change in the F2P community. If only the mind set of at least one in this company, whichever it may be, was toward the bettering of this game instead of monetary excellence. -

I agree I been playin this game off and on for quite a while, back when it was still run by suba games. When the hacks get to be too bad, I leave and try again a few months later. this is the only f2p fps game i've spent any amount of time on. -
The sad part is, this game has SO MUCH potential, and people take advantage of it in the worst way.iloveyourfee wrote: »I agree I been playin this game off and on for quite a while, back when it was still run by suba games. yup, and the thing i've never understood is...why use hacks on a fps? the whole point of the game is to aim and shoot people. whats the point of even playing if your not doin none of the aiming..? lol -
I read a comment somewhere of a hack maker using and making hacks "because the game sucked"...iloveyourfee wrote: »yup, and the thing i've never understood is...why use hacks on a fps? the whole point of the game is to aim and shoot people. whats the point of even playing if your not doin none of the aiming..? lol

GM and Moderators are their boss? Give me a break. A manager at McDonald's looks over maybe five or six workers. GM and Mods "look over" thousands and thousands of players. That's a null comparison, sorry.
Chinese people have more respect for video games. That's life. Get over it. If you want to single-handedly try to change the mindset of the United States, all the power to you.
To say Runescape has a better community is laughable. Name one F2P FPS with a better community, with the same amount of players. Please. -

I've been to McD's that look over 20 workers. The number of employees is irrelevant. A company is a company whether it consists of 2 people or 2,000+ people. Doesn't change their stance in any way. So yes, regardless of 'how many' there are, doesn't change the roles the higher ups play.
I don't need to change the entire US, since not even a good portion even play this game. Besides, Obama is the one doing the change tactic. I'll have to wait my turn. lol
What makes you think Runescape has worse a community? Secondly, how many f2p fps games are out there that meet your criteria? Few, if any at all, mainly due to the actual lack of such games. But it doesn't even have to be an fps game to have a good or bad community. Free or not either. That's like asking if Tim Hortons can compare to Starbucks.
