Problem with new patch

I downloaded the new patch and unfortunately the majority of the data downloaded was picked up as a high level malware alert. I deleted anything related to crossfire and tried downloading it using the different mirrors and different websites but I still get the same alerts. I've also done many scans using different programs and still nothing. it only picks up some of crossfires content. I searched the forums already for similar topics but I couldn't find anything useful. I really enjoy playing crossfire and any help would be much appreciated.

  • I got a problem like that too, when it opens and goes into fullscreen, it comes up with an error saying, "game client corruption found, closing client", they are not exact words, but close enough to get the idea. I run windows xp.

I run windows xp to but this is the first time i've had a problem with cross fire like this. If I choose to quarantine the infected files unfortunately, it quarantines the most essential files for cross fire to start so not sure what to do....i've tried letting it through but a couple other of my anti malware programs picked it up so until it is fixed or someone has a reasonable solution I don't think I'm going to be able to play....Also my anti malware programs seem to be picking up the problem between when HGWC end and cross fire starts up. The full screen hasn't popped up yet.
  • How many malware programs are you running at once? I just ran a full scan with Malwarebytes yesterday, and it found nothing.

Also, a full scan with Symantic Corporate AV found nothing...
