1, and in turn 3. Assuming that we disregard farmers and alternate accounts, rank shows how long you've been playing. The longer you play, the higher the rank. Believing in the saying "practice makes perfect," I also believe that the longer a person plays, the better he gets. In that way rank also reflects skill (to a certain degree, some people bring their previous fps experience with them which does have an impact. Also some people are just naturally better at games than others).
However like I said this is assuming the we disregard farmers and alternate accounts, 2 things that have completely wrecked the ranking system. -
I look and see if the guy has some skill. As shown in the GM photo, I've seen captain and marshal tanks that have been stuck at about bottom of their team's kill list.
many situations come to mind
1) guy has been absent a long time and needs to get his legs back on the ground
2) he's a farmer that can't shoot for jack S- you get the idea.
3) he's using another guy's account because you get the wierdos requesting that I give them my username and password for free zp (I give the the classic user: lickmy pass:AZZ)
4)trainee that used a rank hack to get where he is -

well, if we remove farming from it
u expect some1 whose butter bar and up to have played a lot, and thus know how to play, interestingly, its rarely the case.
i consider peoples up to 1rst lt with kd up to 3.0 not farmed, any higher and il consider it farmed unless i know the person,( and il be right 90% of the time) if the kd is higher then 8.0 and rank is at the silver leaf and higher, well i doubt its legit.
but yet, in overall, ranks mean nothing, just look at sauce and hes rank, yet hes clearly bad

You can't describe a person from it's rank or KD.
If have big rank = maybe is a farmer, maybe he plays all day 24/24 hours (sleep, eat, etc on pc), or maybe he have acount from 2 years and have items for +exp and make over 800 exp on a game of alaska if he is good player.
In conluzion you can describe a person from it's behavour not from his rank -

Rank to me shows how long the person has been playing.
Some high ranks are just farmers, so most of them are terribad since they just sit around shooting at AFK's 25/8.
Most high rankers know enough about the game to be decent.
But usually, the higher the rank, the longer the person has been playing. -
In-game. Whether it's a staff sergeant, SFC, Butter bar, 1st LT, captain, major etc.
What's the first thing that comes to your head?
1. He just plays a lot.
2. He's obviously a farmer.
3. He must be very skilled.
4. He must suck horribad.
5. Ehh, He's just like anyone else.
6. Other (choose your own opinion)

Just curious.. I want to see what the community thinks.
And I don't mean those eagle and star ranks.. Cause we all know they farm.

theres defferent ways you can see it he could be a captain with a tdm kd of 4 (he farms) or he could of only used that accc and made no other one (legit) so it could go different ways
