How to be a pro sniper?
Hey all,
Im still pretty new to this game, and one of the things I love about FPS's is sniping people. However, it appears as though I'm absolutely terrible at it in this game... so I was looking for some tips to get better at it. I have an reg AWM and DSR-1... what can I do to start getting those psoitive k/d's in matches like prison?
I ask cause I'm working on badges... and while all others are easy for me seeing that I generally get a 1.5-2.0 k/d ratio... Im absolutely abysmal at sniper rifles... I keep getting tanked or I miss completely when I try to strafe jump or something like I see other doing.
Any help will be appreciated

I agree. M700 is great to use, because once you switch back to your AWM, or
whatever sniper you prefer, you'll feel like a god with a bazooka in their hand. -
I disagree with practicing with m700. If your new, and want to snipe, start rifling/pistoling. The point is to increase your reflexes and to aim. Aim aim aim. All about aim.
Aim first.
Reflex after.
When you start sniping, generally if your new, you have an option of dsr or awm. Most cases, snipers awm due to the "feel." Which I agree on. What's it to you if you m700 and can't aim? Nothing. -

i somewhat agree but if you start sniping all the time with m700 youll beast with awm cuz with m700 you have to pick heads off and awm body shot = kill -
Lolz I m your polar opposite. I hate sniping. I try to avoid it but missions will force you to do stuff you dont like. Anywho what I did is juggled which sniper rifle was best for me. It was the AWM vs m700. Awm made me the most kills but I sacrificed speed cuz of the weight of the rifle I was holding. On the other hand, m700 is light weight but I killed less players. If I was to snipe, I rather focus on the weight on the rifle than power. At least, when you want to make a quick get away you can! Dont forget to buy some flash grenades. They are VERY important. (Metal Gear Solid 3 reference to facing one of the boss chars, THE END). XD
Lets just say you have a awm. Yeah it will weigh you down but dont forget to switch to a knife to get away faster. Well thats all I know about sniping on my end. Try to snipe without scope for bragging rights. XD -

try this
have a low ping
an awm or whatever you like
and a rifle
First, use your rifle in big area maps like egypt or ship, do single shotting and see whether you can pick off those snipers and crouchers. remember! always shoot 2 shots and move left then shoot 2 shots again and move right, cont. these steps until the enemy has died
Secondly, if you think you're ready,go to prison(map,not real prison xD) and test your skills,get at least 10 kills if you don't want to repeat step 1,don't get 40 deaths either.
finally,low ping is most important,if you're playing against a 300-500 pinger aka BRer,this will really give you an advantage because they have lag and makes them see your on the left,when you're really on the right.
Finally(no.2),play nice and when people say HEKS F11 F11! press ESC and check whether the Kick voting says Voting and an invalid color,if it does exit the game then wait 20 seconds. Don't forget to say GG after you lose or win. -

first off, sell your dsr and keep your awm =O
don't zoom in until you see your target
try not to use double zoom unless it's really necessary
everytime you shoot with it, switch to knife or pistol
if you wanna tank a bit, jump to a side, crouch in mid air, aim and shot, hide and repeat
EDIT:
Almost forgot
never stand still... keep moving so you can tank bullets and u're not an easy target
