We don't have a special reporting system, in game powers, or anything fancy. The best I can do is play the game, see a high rank hacking, screenshot, save the replay, and send it directly to Saidin. The process is just as time consuming and tedious as what the rest of you have to do.
We get a little information from Saidin, but he can't tell us everything. Also like Kris said we have school (which I'm at right now) and jobs to hold down. (And sports...well....maybe only me.)
Being a moderator doesn't put food on my plate. I do it because I like the game, I like the mods, and I like some (most) of you guys.
Like I said above, I'm not really trying to hammer down on you guys specifically. I'm more aiming this towards those directly tied in with the company. Saidin is no longer the ONLY GM. But they sure make it seem like that hasn't changed.
I appreciate the work the MOD's do. But like many times before, the communication overall between player->mods->gms is so broad its quite crippling and it needs to change I think.
You have gained a ton of my respect for even posting here. Though I wish it was a bit more clarified on the issue it was presented though. -

And Xtrap is also Korean. Different time zones, different languages, work ethic, priorities, etc.
Point. But they have other powers and notes. I'm not asking THEM specifically to fix this xtrap problem, but they definatley haven't warned the community about such, and there's other issues they could probably handle otherwise.
And whats more is, how do we know they acknowledge our issues or problems? We're left in the dark. At most, we get guys like you to ease our fears during these terrible times where I honestly don't enjoy my gaming experiences, and it sucks. But its a little demoralizing when the ones that are up there don't really look down often. -
I am almost sure the Saidin will make an announcement on such things when the information is known. He has done quite well in recent weeks releasing the information about the speed hackers and such. It's just a long, tedious process through which he has to find out that information: Players and Moderators reporting in-game happenings in order to make aware those issues. This new problem is quite recent over the weekend and I'm sure Saidin knows about it by now. Haha, I don't think Saidin has a scanner that goes through the game and points out the issues
Though I wish it were true

But he does have the forums. The community happenings that gives him the info when he doesn't scour himself. The most he could do is return the favour a bit more. The UW and so on, was a small step. Generally stuff however, most of us already knew. We like to know what 'they' are doing as well. Not what we are all the time. lol -
A big part of the lack of communication issue is that people here hold you to your word.
Remember the UK Server thing? It was announced early and then GM Saidin was the target of everyone's hate until the damn thing actually came out.
People make money off writing these hacks, they're not going to stop anytime soon. As much as I wish we could LAN this game all day...well, we can't.

Then he has to stop making 'promises' so definite. But if a hack is on the loose, thats nothing to slack on and not notify at least the 'possibility' and what/where to label it as. As said, even Giggle thought it was a glitch. hard to take proper action against such abuse without warnings.
Who's gonna bash him for trying to be cautious for the player's sakes? I doubt anyone is gonna say 'oh Saidin you lie! there's no heks here!' lol
I remember the UK server bashing yes, that was unfortunate. But him hiding isn't gonna make it any better after all. Even people with bad reps can get good ones if they try and fix and blend in with the people better. -
CURTIS MAD
:c
this has got to be one of the worst days i've encountered on crossfire..
in just 2 games i ran into 5 speed hackers. and whats worse than that when i try to kick the speed hackers my team f12's. that ****es me off.
this **** has got to change otherwise crossfire wont last much longer. -
I don't know about the rest of you, but.... the recoding of CF seemed to do more damage than prevent. I can at least deal with chammers. Not this. Any way to roll it back?
I'm not going to bother repeating myself for the rest of the stuff. We are working on the situation.
I will correct this statement though. It seems that people are under some misconception of the code changes to the client.
The current "speedhack" has nothing to do with the code changes to the client. The current hack is only available because of a current and broken hack program that enables a player to use another widely known program. And yes, the names of these things may be known, but there is no point in drawing further attention to them. So specific details are kept out.
What happens is, you active the current hack, run the other program (which normally is disabled and detected by xtrap) and you are able to run a speed hack through the secondary program.
However running these hacks puts a keylogger on your computer and can also ruin your version of cross fire (requiring more than just a reinstall to fix).
So please stop assuming that anti hacking measures taken one way somehow "enabled" hacks in the other direction. Because that is a completely false statement. -

The reason they are not kicking the cheaters is becasue they also want it.
Sometimes you might see some random BR kid asking: "Quem me da hack?"(Could anybody give me a hack?) or typing some fail whispers in a match asking for the hack. Before anybody comesup with the statement: BRs are not the only ones who cheat, I know that, but sure as hell they are the most annoying/blatant out there. When I played on Saturday, out of the 20 Usain Bolt wannabe's that I encountered only 2 were not BR (1 American and 1 Canadian). -

The only difference is, we get reported for asking for such (not like any dumbass should to begin with), but how do we usually know what they say? Quite unfair if you ask me. But generally most foreigners have the hacks and generally have an easier time obtaining it. But we're not dumb enough (i hope not) to think they are the only ones. -

So your claiming this to be purely coincidental to the recent patch? -

Not really a problem for me since Spanish is my mother language:D
On a more serious note, I think we all should suggest a Server/Channel where we all could play against legit players (like Alpha 7 is for the Asian players, Echo 8 for PUGs or playing against at least decent people, etc)
You might say that Echo 8 is already there for that, however sometimes I dislike going there, there will be always people with huge egos and generally act like dumbasses. -

Well when xtrap patches and the game patches and changes some things and people's hacks stop working they start experimenting and come up with another method. Now we sit tight and wait for that method to be patched. Circle of life. -

Sadly not all of us know, and its quite discouraging.
Hrm, well I was thinking of using Foxtrot or Echo 10 for the forumer's rooms I'll make. Opinion? -

You'd be surprised how many people from the forum and in echo 8 actually cheat. -

Yes, hacks come out all the time for free to play games. It was purely coincidental that this was widespread at the time of the hack coming out.
Not to mention that it WAS available on some smaller sites before the patch was released.
Patch time for us is one of the most exciting times in the game, and reaches the most people for us. It's inevitable that people come back to the game, both good and bad. The popularity of the game is at an all time high right now and with that is going to come the all time lows when we deal with these hacking situations.
We will make sure that these problematic hacks are reported properly (already have) and the appropriate people will be working on the problem. It's hard to guarantee dates with this kind of stuff, but at some point we will have an answer for this current wave of hacks. -

Very well, that part is indeed satisfied. However, I have a small favour to ask, is to simply either merge it with speedhack warning post or something at least, so that others know to report a true secondary hack. Is to post the warning of this revised old hack, if you would be so kind, then I can deem this thread dead, as we wait for the patch that may be a while to come. -
You could simply xfire me for a 5v5 GM scrim

too lazy. XD plus, i don't have 5 of me.dariussisgay wrote: »yeah i was just in arena and on other team there was 3 speed hackers all brazilians over 260 ping.
they aren't the only hackers. but yes, hacks are rampant. be patient. either go solitary with close buds or lay low for a bit.
