Just tried to upgrade crossfire and first it says WRONG CRC DETECTED and then my anti-virus finds a trojan horse injector.X inside the crosfire.exe .Now problem fixed but it says File Is Changed: W[2007 L[2] crossfire.exe to me too .Anyone figure it out yet

Helpp asap!!

Ok this is what happened to me:

On 16 Sep i was putting mario kill marks in the "Mark" folder so i could try them out and then i pressed "Start Game" and it was loading then it said "File is changed: W[2007] L[2] crossfire.exe :S

Next day i did the same and i still get the same message!! its rlly ****ing me off. I CANT LIVE WITHOUT CROSSFIRE!!! Someone plzzzzz get a solution to this problem plzzzzzzzzz i cant survive without cf Plzzzzzzzzzzzz help pplz :'[

I even tried doing what people said like disabling my anti virus thingy and etc but i still get the same message!!!!!!!!! SUM1 HELP!!

Solution

Crossfire is going to fix that thing, I guess. In my opinion, the anti-virus thought that cf has the trojan horse virus. That "virus" is in reality a component of the game. So, we deleted a part of the game and it can't start now, because the "file is changed"...

Is not hackers fault. We have only to be patient and wait.

i had this problem a lot and it turned out to be one of my sticks of RAM..Try taking one out at a time and see if that helps..good luck

Trojan

After i disabled Kaspersky 2011 and installed crossfire the game works, but when i enable Kaspersky again it doesnt work -.-.

hey guys i can´t start my CF anymore cause of new x-trap update, with bullguard antivirus shows me an virus inside the update!! when i start without antivirus it needs long time to update, after the hgw-gamewatcher pops´up and need long time too to finish and than nothing happens anymore... and when i try again the same happens all the time, i tryed to reinstall too...
so what can i do???

OK so a quick work around I use was to download the installer from the site and every single time that happen i reinstalled , it worked fine again, I also found that it appears again if I restart my computer so basically Norton created the same set of rules for it, seen it as a "harmful program" and deleted one of the files so just re installing ( doesnt take more than 2-3 minutes) should be a temp work around

Try uninstalling the game, disabling your antivirus, installthe game, and try to start the game, after testing reenable your antivirus, if this works try adding the game exe to your antivirus exceptions.
