I didnt read much of this thread but know this: if you're going be using your mouse for shooting games basically your options are logitech mx518 and razer deathadder both can be found online for 35-40 or so.
I've been told the deathadder is a little bigger in the hand than the mx518. also the deathadder is rubberized over the top where i believe the mx518 is only on the sides?
i can really only speak for the deathadder since its the mouse i own. i find it fits VERY comfortably into my hand. if you have bigger hands youll probably find the deathadder more comfortable. some people have reported issues running a deathadder at 1000hz polling, saying that their crosshair wont move in a perfectly straight line and they have to turn the polling down to 500, but mx518 runs at 500hz max. its a very small detail anyways. mine works fine at 1000hz polling. im pretty sure mx518 has a faster on the fly dpi switch, which again is a very small detail. another thing you might want to consider is that in the mouse world logitech has almost unparalleled customer service and support regarding mice that go out and replacements.
i dont know if its happened yet but it would be nice if some mx518 users would report in and maybe someone with both.
heres a youtube video i found of comparison of the 2, but the user seems biased towards the razer and honestly i didnt even watch the whole thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QV1wltmlmo
edit
looking back through the thread looks like doop suggested something else entirely, and his advice is a lot more valuable than 98% of the people in this thread.
for headphones i use skull candy double agent headphones which work fine except it hurts my head in extended gaming sessions (kind of tight) and i use a 10 dollar headset around my neck strictly for the mic. -
If you have money
Headset : http://bit.ly/9lR41M , it is one hell of a thing.
Mouse : http://bit.ly/9NcRRm , Very good mice for all uses -

Deathadder was awful IMO
side buttons got annoying and they were big and i kept hitting back alot.
It had negative accell @ 450 dpi and i cant do higher dpi, just dont like it.
Got dirty too easily and was hard to clean.
Was big and bulky.
Cord got in the way and rubbed against my mousepad constantly -

its comparable to the pc350's.
I dont think so.., maybe the quality is the same, but the price...., which lets the thing down by miles.pc350s are only good if you mod themTAAAASTYLIMES wrote: »stupidest thing i have heard

True.
the pc350s aren't even close to the mmx 300 in quality
pc350s are an average pair of headphones (~hd 280)
the mmx 300 is between dt770 and dt880s
