Failed to download patch file.

So i recently downloaded CrossFire ( from this site http://download.cnet.com/windows/3055-7441_4-10907539.html?tag=pdl-redir , because from the original site it was taking too long). And after installing it, i click start game, it starts up the patcher and after a few minutes i get this error

(sorry its too big)

So i can't play! Please i need help, i have been waiting to play for ages! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try turning off your anti-virus/firewall and re-install cf.

Thanks, will try (update when done)

EDIT: Disabled my firewall but still get the same error

Nope. Disabled my firewall but get the same error.

The installer from Cnet is not the most current installer. For some reason the game has trouble patching from the older installers. Download the v1051 installer from one of the links on the download page and you will be able to run the game.

Try the torrent link, it's pretty fast once it gets going.
