ping increases

As i'm sure almost all of the regulars of the forums and crossfire, a good bit of people have experienced an increase from their regular ping. Mine used to be from 50-70 at the very most. But, maybe a week or two before the latest patch, my ping for some reason raised permanently about 20-30 points. Now, I didn't take this as too big of a deal because it was still under 100 (where it starts to actually affect game play). Then, post patch, it rose another 30-40 points on average. Due to this now massive raise in ping, i'm unable to enjoy smooth gameplay as people are skipping around slightly and clearly tanking shots much more than before. I figured I'd give this a few days because it might be just because so many people are downloading the patch, but no dice. Even after a few days, nothing in my ping changed. So, now if and when I am playing crossfire, my ping is anywhere between 110 and 160. This change in ping or latency hasn't occured in any other internet game I play. (I'm probably not going to be playing crossfire untill this whole thing is fixed. If it never is resolved i'm probably not coming back)

I live in virginia so it should be obvious that this ping isn't normal. For a while I thought this was all due to the change from one internet provider to another (my older one was bought out by my current provider) because this all happened around the same time. But, every one of my friends who also had this switch happen (about 4 others) didn't have this increased ping. And just to add something else to help, no changes in computers, routers, or anything of the kind has taken place during the past few months.

With several several others reporting a stable increase in ping, it just has to be game oriented in some way. So, i'm mainly here to ask if someone could look into this.
