Sorry, but this thread isn't about who one would hire to become a mod and who would do whos job better. I've never been in a CF Mod's shoes to know what its like. And the same could be said for anyone else not such. So its impossible to say such, and would kindly like it not to stray off topic. Mods are not nominated. They are people who qualify in certain fields of the companies choosing. I thank you for the compliments, but please, refrain such from this thread. Lest it be closed.
Agreed, you can't compare such things. I've seen far worse f2p fps games. And i have yet to see any that are better. CF tops it all. Even those huge game companies fail, its not unheard of. But comparison to the logic of such things is pointless and really, has no real bearing on the thread overall. Generally the only thing those big games have is similar ToA's that get enforced is about it.

For those who seem to try and compare Crossfire to other games. This game is not even 2 years old, from the open beta period. For a game that is less than 2 years into development, I'd say it has come pretty far regardless of its flaws. You can not give a fair judgement on the course of this game in less than 2 years, especially with it being F2P. Sure, we may not have the best developers but it's still early in the game for our version. The reason why I am so positive is the fact that I see the potential this game has. The potential that will probably become a reality one day, if people have enough patience and are willing to see this game through the "bleeding" process, as Kelathe once said. -
How do you report for harrassment? 2 Screenshots? As many screenshots as possible?? or??
Screenshots are usually enough I would think. If there's multiple instances then that only furthers it, if its the same person.
However in all honesty, I don't know how the Mods handle these things or if they do. I don't really see it as a high priority case at this time. The most that the typical answer you would probably get is A) Make a new ign.
Block them. otherwise, I don't see anything being done in any time soon sadly. -

As someone said, we, on those forums, are in quite minority. Z8 won't listend what we do have to say about the game and the way it goes. What's left now is to sit back and enjoy the show.

While it is quite nice of everyone to say such things, the discussions we open to address/improve the state of the community should not just be seen as a "Wow, he should be a Moderator". The points we have are to involve the community more in day-to-day, meaningful discussions. More people should do the same and it shouldn't be looked at as a "Hi I'm trying to be a Moderator, so I'm writing a long discussion thread." We are trying to get more of you to follow suit and possibly start thinking about the fact that this community needs help and it CAN be fixed. The thoughts of two people isn't going to fix it. But the thoughts of all of us, might go a little further. Think about it.Hackers will ALLWAYS be here. BRs won't leave. Z8 won't start listening to suggestions. The game will fall apart. It's never too late to start trying to fix things. While you are entitled to your opinion, I believe you are mistaken. This community can be fixed with enough support. I'm sorry you feel the way you do. -
We, are not admins. We, are not Z8Games. We do not have enough powers to deal with this. And Z8 ... Tell me how many times, and for how long, the community asks BRs to get banned. Tell me for how many months, people request a nerfed Scar Light. Instead of trying to look in what we are suggesting, Z8 now puts a register page in portuguese (Wellcome dear BRs! Please feel free to lag and hack in our game!), they also nerf every single gun NOT needing nerfing (M4-Custom, Famas, soon XM8 e.t.c.), but still keep SL and M12 in shape.Also to add to Kelathe's statements about nominations for Moderator real quick:

For one, Z8Games has no influence over the in-game issues, including servers, specific populations of people, weapon nerfs, etc. Z8Games is here as the internet portal for the CF community, nothing more. Second, please tell me with the small minority of the CF population we have in this forum, how many people actually are positive about things being able to get better? I bet less than 10% actually care to try and do anything to improve it.
Don't you think [GM]Saidin and G4Box (who have direct contact to the Developers) would be more willing to go to great lengths for us, if we were more supportive of his/their efforts? Keep in mind that they can only go so far and then it's up to the Developers. However, with 3 out of every 5 people flaming and blaming Z8Games/Saidin/G4Box for the all the issues, why would they want to bend over backwards for us to make it all better? I sure wouldn't. -
Z8Games however has different damage on guns and different gun locations (Shop/Crates/Coupons), wich means that they do have minimal influence on CFNA version. Or else we would have a Kriss in Item Shop. CFKR or CN has it there. If Z8 didn't decide on how to handle guns and where to place them, it would be the same here.
Z8Games are the ones who also get the servers and the ones who can IP ban BRs. Or, we would have servers in China. Besides the Japanese DID ip ban people. Although the Japanese are not the Devs, AFAIK. Why can't Z8 do the same thing?
Third of all. I approve of all the good things Z8 do. I'm the first one to say "thanks" for the buddy system. But, I disapprove on the high numbers of errors that Z8 does, and devs do. (SL. Brasilians.) -

On top of this, the Admins have already clarified why they won't ban BR's. I personally agree with them and they have said that the issues between countries with problems are being dealt with. Just takes time.
Also, don't think that these forums go totally ignored. There's been a number of cases where I think suggestions and ideas have been taken into consideration and implemented. Mine I believe being one of them, and heck, this buddy system I think has been rolled around a bit too. They want to make things enjoyable, while at the same time fixing problems. Which is not an easy task. Z8 technically has no physical hand in this other than relaying information.
What Z8 -DOES- have control over is their own rules for this portal they have created. Which is the issue I brought forth. As normally its an issue with the game mechanics/community itself here on the forums that get noted. So I'm hopign that the small portion they can fix, they will. -

Change Z8Games to G4 Box and you would be somewhat correct. Z8Games is simply an internet portal for the CF community, they have no in-game influence. G4 Box however, licenses and publishes the game from SmileGate, the developers. G4 Box DOES have some influence over the content, but it's ultimately up to SmileGate (Developers for ALL the versions). Also, SmileGate is the ONLY company that does any coding modifications (i.e patches, fixes, new content, etc). They code it and then send it back to G4 Box to ultimately update the game. -

Ain't Z8 is just some company owned by G4Box? I don't remember where I heard that, but I clearly am sure that Z8 and G4Box are either both owned by the same company, or that Z8Games is owned by G4Box. Lazy to search the forums for the quote tho.

They are partners. Not the same company. Even being partners, Z8Games does not have the responsibility of in-game content. G4 Box only has a small influence over in-game content (such as the Spectator Mode right before WOGL S1). But in the end, SmileGate decides what we get and when we get it. There is only so much G4 Box/Saidin can do. Which is what I was trying to point out. If we were a little more forthcoming and thankful for what Saidin does instead of flaming his every decision, he might be willing to go a little further for us when contacting the Developers.

Crossfire has potential, and as far as I'm concerned always will as long as there is a steady community here. The fact is the rules are very lightly enforced, and bans aren't always permanent. Which makes the game lack a completely fair and fun playable environment. Also, prior to people ripping apart Z8Games for their rule enforcement, and everything else. I would like to say once again, they do have potential to get this game to function as a really good and solid game. They need to stop trying to make money, almost 4/5 of any Z8Game update these days is a new payment option, or a new survey site. It's almost laughable.
Stop worrying about your paychecks and get the community on the forums and off together here. Work quicker with bans, and overall enforce the rules more strictly. The gaming environment has become way to lose, and I'm utterly sick of playing the game with little 12 year olds, that believe that ever sentence needs to have a lot of profanity in it.

2. Making an Alt account takes literally 5 minutes. Plus the Sign-Up page has a PORTUGUESE OPTION.

Agreed on the points that rules need to be enforced much more than they are now. Conversations with [MOD]Greycloak in IRC have shed some light on this subject. The problem is that with the merging of the Z8Games portal and vBulletin, there is somewhat of an issue with the databases themselves which is causing problems with the MOD Control Panel. That is why [GM]Saidin has the only powers to put more harsh punishments down because they can not appoint anyone as what you would call a "Super Moderator" with those same powers.
From what I understand, taking down the databases and fixing them would need A LOT of downtime and that is something they simply can not do. Until an alternative is found, the only thing Moderators can do is ban accounts, where another will be made shortly after, with the process repeating. Still, I agree that there needs to be much more strict enforcement of said rules, even with the limited powers. -

Insults in other languages get reported and dealt with all the time. Adding BR or CAN or USA to your name is not offensive and does not break the rules.
As with all harassment, griefing and other such issues they get the appropriate punishment at the time of the review.
In the entire rant/review you've only really asked 1-2 questions.
You're trying to find ways to get people removed from the game and it's not really working. We've stated that there won't be an IP restriction at this time on any country (Brazil included). But searching out some sort of method to have them removed because they put BR on their name, or insult you in another language is not the way to go.
However, to add to that, if they DO insult you in another language then please bring that up. While our support team and company is English primary, we have resources to handle these types of cases. And we've never stopped people from reporting insults or offensive material in other languages.
Since this is essentially a necro thread dregged up by another locked thread there is no reason to go further on this and this will be closed.
