Does smoke really help in gm?

So almost every gm game i play, there r those ppl that smoke the sites or just throw their smoke bombs at random places. I tell them to stop smoking, cuz it blocks my view and makes my fps drop a little. But they always reply, "No! the smoke helps me see the ghost better". I no that the smoke can help you see ghosts better, but is it a advantage? Cuz normally the ghosts that are dumb enough to go in smoe dont no hwo to b hop, so u basicly dont ned the smoke to c them. And the ones that can b hop r smart and will go around the smoke. So to me the smoke doesnt really help, and the smoke has many disadvantages:

1)makes ur fps drop
2) blocks ur view
3) ghosts can use it as cover while they run to the sites.

But this is just my opinion.

If you know how to use it, then yes, yes it does.

Smoke in pubs is utterly ******ed in my own opinion.

u can see a ghost if he stand in the edge of the smoke, but thats it, other then that smokes are horrible in gm and as u said, block the view, make lag and is annoying

-Doesn't make my fps drop.
-Helps me find stupid ghost that sit in it (which is alot).
-Helps when defusing cause the ghost run in blindly.

i hate it when its in the sites...it makes me laggg horibbly, and like other gr noobs just spray randomly in the smoke, which gives out their positions and make it easier for ghsot to kill..

well smokes make my fps drop a bit but not enougth to make a significant impact, and i still hate them! in pubs their just used the most idiotic ways posibles, well its a pub. in scrims they have their uses thoug.

i rarly ever use my smokes, i only use it at like a small open place to help me get across without losing a huge amount of hp...other than that, my smokes r just sitting in my bags :P

I have smoke hack. I can see through it.

Jk, it helps sometimes. Red smoke is annoying. And I drop down to 8-10 fps in smoke
even if the smoke is in mid at bw. And I'm scoped through it with awm I still lag

My main grenade allways have been a smoke grenade. I don't use grenades often at all, but hell, the smoke is the most usefull grenade at times.

U can stand in the smoke for hide yourself. And can hear the breath with your slowly reaction

2.SHOWS U THAT GHOST FOR 3-4 SECONDS xD
3.GOOD FOR DEFUSING (NVM IF IT'S GM OR ANOTHER MODE)

if they go through the smoke

90% of advantage to the ghost and 10 % to the GR.
As you already said the noob ghost are easy without the smoke and the pro ghost will fast escape the edge of it and even use it to his advantage . " noob GM smokers , Go to hell "

When used correctly, it's useful. When not, it's bloody annoying.
When randomers come and smoke where I'm watching for fail hops, I get pis.sed. But I usually smoke fast bunny places at the start and camp there for a bit. Usually bag a few bunnying shovelers.

I only use it to cover me or people defusing. Sometimes when there 1-2 ghosts left I`ll throw smoke so I know if there near the bomb.

Smoke is a decent solution for find ghosts near the bomb.
They help reveal their location for a brief moment.

Also, smoke doesnt drop fps for me, and im running an old computer.
Maybe lower the graphic settings and use a game booster.

Basically all I play is gm and I love to have smoke. What people have explained about it earlier are true. Can help as a good defensive strat against ghosts.
