I think you still can't disable the menu, but you could try recording a ~1024x650px box (leaving out the menu and just recording what's above)
(that 650px part is not accurate(also depending on your resolution), don't remember where the menu is exactly located on the screen)

I know how to do it on vegas 9.0 if thats what you have?
