Spiking

Can someone walk me through how to fix my lag spiking, if possible? I usually have around 89-90 and then I'll jump waaaaay up to at least 1500, then back down to 90 in about 3 seconds. Is there any way to fix this (I use a wireless desktop router, by the way)?

Make sure nobody else is on your network. Like put a password on it. I don't think that should be a problem though. Make sure nobody but you is downloading. Other than that the servers pretty much fails.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, KillGod, but it's actually not the servers' fault. I experimented with some other games at my house, on the PS3 and computer, and they both have the same 10 second lag spike issue. I'm guessing my router is going bad. You should look into yours.

Just because you're experiencing the same thing doesn't mean you know anything about it. It's not the servers fault at all, and if someone else was siphoning bandwidth from my wireless, it would be a constant high ping, not spikes. So please don't bother if you're not giving any helpful input.

I had a problem with lag spiking. It could be your router, or your computer overheating.

Actually. When my brothers download stuff it can cause that to happen also. It will spike and not just stay high. And no. I don't know everything about it. You happy?
