It would violate both contracts and laws.

Lol, it definitely came across as me trying to directly influence the sway of Z8Games, but my original intention was not. It was simply to convince anybody that thought it was a bad idea, that it wasn't. (Aside from the obvious legal issue.)
I'm not trying to make them break the law. I'm not even really complaining, this is just an issue that I felt somewhat strongly about, and if the contract cannot and has not been change, why did they only agree to distribute it in North America and The United Kingdom? Did they just go "yeah Australia's gay, **** them, we'll just do these two" or why did G4Box disallow it?
I'm really asking, this question, why not? I know that it's because of the contract they made with G4Box, but before it was signed, why not Australia?
And if they contacted G4Box and got it changed to service the UK, why can't they do that with Australia? -
Z8 has always been licensed to publish Crossfire within Canada, America and the UK.
I couldn't possibly accurately tell you why they didn't decide to license with Australia right then and there, its legalities most likely not even the GMs know about.

but more servers means more money to get in that, Staff in australia too... So yeah, it all takes money, effort and time.
That defies the point of my first post.
Everybody was meant to have come to terms with the fact that IF they could put servers, and staff etc in Australia they would only make money, not lose it. -

No, we won't add an Australian server. We can not, and it is not our decision alone to make.

Yeah well, I had a far off hope that if 100% of the community got behind it, and ****, that it might happen one day. Cause they'd pay to change the license or whatever.
But yeah, I should contact local game distributors and get them to contact G4Box.
I will do that one day relatively soon. -
Hmm, yeah I'm Aussie also but Yeah like dot said, z8games don't have the rights to host servers outside of UK/NorthAmerica. But I don't think they're actually trying to do anything about it. So whatever let's just keep lagging our way through West coast server.
I'd think if Australia somehow picked up Crossfire it would just be like the Crossfire we play when it first started. Be in Beta. It would be nothing like North American CF is now. -
As the best australian player in cf, I can say with honesty there will NOT be an australian server, nor do I want one. I would rather watch NA players get upset that a 200 pinger can shoot, makes me smile.

As much as I hate the lost reg, I would miss the tankz0rs, laggerts and behind-wall shots. -
Would be almost entirely gone with an Australian server, or wait, loads of other people would play on it.
It would end up having laggers, except they wouldn't be Australians. xD
1v1's don't really mean anything, if you play with me then you can see I'm the best australian player, but that really isn't saying much. DrB is the only one close to my skill level. -

Good luck with your Australian Server. If UK gets one, why not Aussie? Then the tip of Texas for those darn'd BRs?
