No such thing as a team?

God you're all terrible at this game, I know for a fact we can be beaten because we don't have the best chemistry, we still overrotate and miscommunicate at times, even though some of our members have counter strike gamesense, it isnt that difficult to buy counter strike for 10$ and go to ESEA.net or gotfrag.com and pick up some professional demos and watch how they play. If you want to win, you have to actually think about how you are going to do that, 90% of the teams I face don't use their 3 nades to the fullest opportunity and just rush in like in NORMANDY WHILE THEY GET DENIED BY A FUUCKING MACHINE GUN
anyhow, I have ESEA now for a gift so i'll be playing some 1.6
I'm pretty sure you can't.
Minty makes a good point.
Watching demos (replays for most of you) is a good way to get a leg up on people. If you're new to the game or the competitive scene then instead of learning the hard way by experience just grab a replay and copy the older players. -

Well that's plagiarism is it?
Yea, of course that with the game acknowledgment the player will have its own game style. -
Damn.
I'm so sick of hearing about LifeLine, it's ridiculous. The mindset of "we can't win because of LifeLine" is the primary reason this game has a lack of above average competitive teams. I don't know if it's me or if this game attracts kids with ADHD, but how hard is it to create/join a clan, develop chemistry and just play? People need to stop trying to move up on the competitive ladder and stick to a goddamn team.
I'd be surprised is they won WOGL1000 to be honest. A cash prize attracts a lot of teams from other games. -
other games have cash prizes tooDamn.

i've gotten nothing but negative comments from people i tried to bring to crossfire.
i would personally be surprised if teams switch to crossfire
and sticking to a team does no good if the team isn't good. team hopping is personally natural -
ye .there are many teams in this game.
i consider our clan a "team" though it doesn't fit the initial profile.
teams in this game:
any clan with under 10 members, though in my opinion having 20 members is not necessarily an issue if they are close friends.
competitive wise, i think it's not dead and its actually just picking up with all the leagues starting to take interest in CF.
i hope that made sense. -
I have 5 players (including myself) right here who (given a fair ping) will give LifeLine a good match, win it or lose it. I find that the main problem with the people I have in mind is the lagg of using a NA server and thus that will be the losing point.
But I know these guys are willing to play against anyone. They won't chicken out cos of "Oh no it's LifeLine, we may as well rage quit!". No. They have the guts (unlike some in the crossfire community) to just do it, win it or lose it. These players have my utmost respect.
I just wish more players would be like this. -
Damn.

The community is pretty bad. People will leave their starter slot on a pretty good team to roster ride Life Line. -

Thus one of the main problems in this game. No loyalty. Lack of commitment to a team.
1) There aren't enough people here to come out and commit to leading a clan and actively managing it to consistently be a good team. Running a clan takes commitment, which more than half of this community doesn't have. People need to step up to the plate. You guys whine about no competitiveness - Do something about it.
2) No offense to LifeLine - But I would not want to be on a team where they are the best. I would want some sort of challenge, some sort of hill to climb. That is more satisfying than just sitting at the top. No disrespect to LifeLine, you guys are a good team. But I'd rather attempt to help another team get to that level than roster ride a top team. Players need to have more loyalty to their teams and understand that it can be done. It IS possible to get to that level with hard work and commitment. -

I was LDR of a clan and i let my friend be LDR to make a logo then after an hour he kicked every1 and disband it we did good 3days in and we had 12members. -
I never thought the competitive scene was dead. Last time I checked the clan server was doing very well. Tech Nine is actually a relatively small clan and I get down with Souls, ][T][, and one other which alternates and we practice in scrims. It's not difficult nor taking time out of my daily life. I'm not the best shot by any means but I usually make it out with a 2.0 KD due to some smart playing.

LL must be sick of seeing there name flashed on every forum post concerning teams.
In my year and a half of playing this game ive had the pleasure of meeting some great people, alot of them are some of the best this game has scene. I hope to get to know more in the future. However real life plays a major factor in day to day existance for most people...
Great clans like Trio, Throne have real people with real lives, so not all of them are around 24/7 365 days of the year.
I could create a "Team" from just the Pros that i know, but i have no time to devote the energy needed to do it.
Time for some, and the fact alot of people are lazy and cant be bothered being the other is your answer Bruce -

WHAT IS STOPING YOU FROM GETTING 4 OF YOUR FRIENDS, STARTING A TEAM, MAKING STRATS, PRACTICING STRATS, AND THEN PLAYING AND EXECUTING STRATS?
"oh its borrrrring"
AND THATS WHY NO PROGRESS IS BEING MADE IN THIS GAME OR THE COMMUNITY. BECAUSE YOU'RE ALL TOO LAZY (SAVE A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE) TO GET OUT THERE AND DO SOME WORK.
HOLY HELL YOU CAN'T JUST RELY ON INDIVIDUAL SKILL ANYMORE. YOU CAN'T JUST GET OUT THERE AND OUTSHOOT THEM ANYMORE.
WHAT GOOD IS MALTE'S AK IN BOX ROOM WHEN YOU POP FLASH HIM THEN RUSH?
WHAT GOOD IS THAT AWP IN B WINDOW WHEN YOU SMOKE OVER THE SITE AND THEN RUSH IN?
ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO DO IT. ITS NOT FUN TO GET IN AND PRACTICE BUT GDDAMIT IF YOU WANT TO WIN ITS WHAT YOU DO.
IS PRACTICE TWO NIGHTS A WEEK TOO MUCH FOR YOU KIDS? AND THEN THE SAME KIDS SIT ON THE FORUM AND WHINE AND GO AROUND SAYING THINGS LIKE "NO TEAMS IN CF, NO COMPETITIVE COMMUNITY, JUST GIVE LL THE MONEY"
WHAT A POOR EXCUSE. STOP BEING LAZY.
"BECAUSE YOU'RE ALL TOO LAZY" ROFL? Sitting my ass in a chair and practice for a e-tourney? That's how i would define laziness. -

Thus my point is proved. It is people like you who need to go somewhere else. It may not be important to you to have a competitive scene here, but it's important to others. Some people WANT competitiveness. You my friend, need to step off. -

Where is it written that people that don't want to sit for hours practicing for a stupid thing that is supposed to be FUN can't play this game? I really enjoy scrimming with friends and playing with them for some time. But everything has its limit, tired of fat kids like you trolling every single reply, i don't give a damn thing about you, but ME, personally, dont care about
a bunch of kids taking the game like if it was their life. -

maybe 2 hours a week
it mainly comes down to players being immature and clueless
and not many people take this game like it is their life, not even people on lifeline.
where you people come up with this idea of practice is quite comical, this isn't a sport. you don't need to practice 3 hours a day 7 days a week to be good at it. -

Hey, thats great.
This topic doesn't concern you then, so no need to even post in it. Have a good day! -

True statement. -
in pubs, everyone wants frags and the only real strats is in SD and GM which is limited to A and B site.
in scrims, in a good clan, the strats may or may not be more evaluated depending if they have some way to talking to the others.
I think teams are just dead because there is no method of giving out strats fast enough. Typing will get you behind and most likely killed. and pubs are meant for frags and practicing. -
A group of individuals that are together with a common goal.
The best teams? Ones that stick together regardless of the outcome and are willing to do what they can to improve. Ones that look at the situation, see why they failed and are willing to move forward rather then simply repeating their previous failures.
That being said, I have had my chances to be the best in this game. I have failed to make the most out of them. Regardless it is apparent that I am better off in the online world of magic and dragons then in one of fps games. -
What I see in this particular thread is about 15-20 people agreeing with Bruce, saying that people need to stop roster riding, commit, and make some teams. However, these people are nonames, except for a select few. If you were actually part of a small, committed, good team, I'm sure I'd have heard about you by now, considering I spend quite a bit of time on the forums. I know I'm just parroting the last 9 pages of this thread, but COMMIT, PRACTICE, AND GET GOOD.

Not ALL "small good teams" are on the forums. Just saying. But some good points.
EDIT: Just because you don't recognize a forum name, doesn't mean it's a nobody. Some people like to float under the radar. -

Last time i checked i could post anywhere i wanted. And yes sir, it does concern me that you all rage on people that say "give LL teh money!!11" that's what they think, their opinion, so i don't get what is this all about. -
one of the reasons i started a team 2 days ago was so i could actually form one that could actually start competing with "high caliber teams". After paradox died i thought of roster riding a clan but then i saw escapes thread and this thread as well and it sorta gave me a bit of confidence. Before this thread i thought of buying esea for a year and just straight up quit, but somehow these threads made me stay. So if anyone wants to stop roster riding their team and actually join one where you could actually get better xfire me:acedarknight.
edit: Still bought esea to get better at this game btw. -

If you don't get what this is all about then why are you posting?
Just because I COULD post in a GM topic doesn't mean I do. Exercise some discretion. -
I agree Bruce.
But I would like to add that the "company" has a big part of this failure.
The community is suppose to get together in forums and discuss things. ( and yes sometmes argue/flame/etc ) but unfortunatley this community gets together to flame and sometimes a discussion breaks out. There is no reason not to inforce the "spam post" rules. There is no reason not to enforce a stricter no tolerance policy. Banter gets way out of hand quck and with posters who arent part of the original discussion or event.
If there was better support system in place to police the forums better maybe more poepl would participate and be part of the communty.
I have had my own team for many years and also been a mod and administrator for another game. This community and the lack of enforcement of a COC was actually suprising to me. But hey when in Rome..
